Position overview:

As the Plant Controller, you are a key financial leader supporting the Yangon manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will contribute to the success of Ball by providing high-quality financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support strong operational and strategic decision-making.

You will manage the plant’s financial control environment, safeguard company assets, and partner closely with the local operations team to ensure effective cost control, improved EVA performance, and continuous improvement of financial processes across the plant and broader region.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Team Management and Business Partnership
  • Acting as a trusted financial partner to the plant leadership team
  • Collaborating with Finance and non-finance teams to enhance business acumen and cost awareness
  • Supporting regional and plant initiatives aimed at strengthening EVA performance and process standardization
  • Budgeting and Planning
  • Leading preparation of annual budgets and spending forecasts for the plant
  • Delivering quarterly forecast refresh cycles (3+9, 6+6, 9+3)
  • Managing “in-month” financial forecasting (POV / mid-month forecasts) to guide timely decision-making
  • Overseeing capital budgeting, investment proposal reviews (AFE), and project financial control
  • Reporting and analysis
  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the plant
  • Tracking and reporting financial performance, KPIs, variances, and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
  • Managing plant P&L reporting, factory accounting processes, and local financial submissions
  • Controlling and Compliance
  • Maintaining robust plant-level internal controls including SOX/GCF requirements
  • Ensuring accuracy of inventory valuation, balance sheet accounts, and accruals/provisions
  • Managing fixed assets: register maintenance, capitalization, depreciation, and disposals
  • Supervising physical inventory checks and ensuring control over operating costs
  • Working as part of the broader regional financial community to support consistency and best practice
  • Collaborating with stakeholders including Mont Plant Management, GBS Finance teams in Serbia and Mexico, and central Finance groups

 

What are we looking for?

  • Higher education qualification in Finance / Accounting (preferred)
  • Strong experience in controlling, reporting, budgeting, and financial planning
  • Proven ability to partner with operations and drive performance improvements
  • Ability to work within complex reporting structures and stakeholder groups
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and ideally SAP
  • Experience with procurement processes and controls is an advantage
  • Fluency in English
