Position overview:
The Assistant Plant Controller will primarily assist in managing plant accounting, financial control, financial and statistical reporting, costing, control fixed assets , fixed assets register and depreciation and inventory control across the Ball Yangon manufacturing sites. This role will also support the Yangon, Myanmar Finance team and BOE EMEA as needed, ensuring timely submission of all required reports, including ad hoc reports as assigned.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly management report for the COST (OCS) component of the BOE Scorecard and the plant performance review, ensuring alignment with corporate deadlines.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of regular production reporting requirements.
- Support the development of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Calculating depreciation of fixed assets and control fixed assets & CIP of plant to reconcile & align with projects and engineering manager, and updated yearly and beginning next year of Fixed Assets & CIP.
- Control fixed assets & calculate depreciation and fixed assets register by monthly, quarterly, yearly to be aligned with AFE projects/ CAPEX.
- Provide financial analysis and data preparation to support local management teams and key stakeholders.
- Implement necessary procedures to control costs and protect company assets.
- Assist in maintaining relevant local SOX controls and supporting the annual audit process, particularly in the areas of inventory, OCS, and costing, Tax and MJTD, Government which related with costing and OCS /BOE.
- Provide coverage and support to key stakeholders, including the Finance Manager, Plant Manager, and the EMEA BOE (OCS) team, as required.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual flash reports, Lean reports, and waterfall presentations to support the Plant Manager.
- Compile data required for assessments and assist with external tax consultant recommendations related to OCS and costing.
- Prepare OCS reports for Forecasts, Deep Dive analyses, Strategic Planning, and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ensuring alignment with the Plant Manager and Finance Manager.
- Ensure the accurate completion of costing transactions provided by the FP&A regional team and input them into JDE.
- Monitor and verify pricing and usage of Bill of Materials (BOM) items to align with production and purchasing requirements.
- Update the annual BOM in JDE during the first week of January following year-end closing.
What are we looking for?
- Finance/business degree or Diploma accounting;
- Chartered Accountant Intermediate / Post Graduate in Commerce Law and / or Tax qualification will be highly recommended.
- Previous experience working in a finance role.
- JDE system knowledge.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced Analytical and Spreadsheet Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and financial reporting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations in Myanmar.
- Fluent in English and Burmese.
