Primary Purpose of this Position: 


The Front-End Line Technicians are responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of the cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems. Ensure proper running start of production lines on time.  Keep the documentation up to date and comply with the specifications and requirements of the can manufacturing process.

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

  • Perform preventive maintenance work on each equipment in the production line.  Ensure minimal “downtime”, as established by the maintenance program.
  • Respond to emergency calls to repair utility equipment such as engines, valves, punches, conveyors, boilers, among others.
  • Responsible for maintaining production equipment in the best operation mode with the best quality product and repair any damage.
  • The employee will respond to the obtained readings from the quality tests to adjust the machinery accordingly to the knowledge acquired every 4 hours or when required.
  • Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder and feed coils through lubricator and into press.
  • Set-up, maintenance, and operation of the up ender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press.
  • Set-up, maintenance and operation of the body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
  • Inspect and monitor, then enter the following can specifications:
    • thin wall
    • thick wall
    • dome depth
    • trim can height
  • Perform visual checks to ensure that process complies and take appropriate measures.
  • Assist in other areas as needed to maintain smooth can flow through the plant.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation such as coil log, check sheets, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and machines and practice proper safety procedures.
  • Be responsible of an immediate notification to the Production Supervisor of any defect or occurrence that could cause a quality problem in the manufacturing process and or any unsafe acts or conditions as well as areas that need cleaning attention.
  • Analyze the product of the run on the production lines. Analyze and help determine the root cause of quality problems in the production line.
  • The employee must have to be available and avid to learn new jobs required by Management, including support for areas outside of their daily process.
  • Keep and maintain records and files, prepare reports, order parts and supplies for equipment related to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure the organization and cleaning of the work area at the end of every shift.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Follow and ensure compliance of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the current Food Safety System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Use personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Comply with the policies, procedures and processes established by Florida Can Manufacturing LLC.

   

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Associate degree or postsecondary certificate in Mechanic, Repair Technologies or Electromechanical required.
  • At least two years of related experience required. 
  • Analysis and self-learning capacity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Sit, stand, and/or walk for periods of five hours or more, move and examine objects at high and low reach, and read for periods of three hours or more.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and regularly stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. This position also requires manual dexterity/fine motor skills.
  • Ability to work up to twelve (12) hours shift, frequent overtime may also be required.

Hiring Salary Range: $ 22.00/Hr
