Primary Purpose of this Position: 


Perform a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers for the use in the manufacture process.

 


What will you be responsible for?

 

  • The electrician is responsible for maintaining his area in optimal conditions to meet the production, safety, hygiene, and good manufacturing practice requirements.
  • Ensure the organization and cleaning of the work area at the end of every shift.
  • Must immediately notify the supervisor of any electrical, communication, automatic controls, PLC, or other event related issues that can cause business interruption.
  • Ensure all electrical and electronic devices under his responsibility and designated by the supervisor are in optimal condition for use.
  • Perform and distribute preventive maintenance routines as outlined by the Maintenance Department.
  • Assist any operator as needed.
  • In case of operational shutdown, must be responsible for:
  • Help pick up any material or residue from the floor.
  • Clean equipment surface (glass or metallic surfaces).
  • Assist on line start-up or any other task as needed.
  • Keep equipment secure and door lock down.
  • Follow log out and tag out procedures.
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring of production equipment and utensils accordingly as required codes using hand tools or power tools.
  • Diagnose and test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Have knowledge on how to prepare sketches or read blueprints to locate the wiring of the equipment, ensuring manufacture compliance and all applicable safety codes.
  • Install ground devices, connect power lines, and combine and or replace electric motors.
  • Keep and maintain records and files, prepare reports, order parts and supplies for equipment related to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Work from ladders and scaffolding following all established safety rules.
  • Install pipes and conduits (pipes or tubing) in designated areas.
  • Prepare partitions to wire and complete circuits.
  • Provide sketches and estimates of electrical materials and services when required.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Follow and ensure compliance of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the current Food Safety System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Comply with the policies, procedures and processes established by Florida Can Manufacturing LLC.

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Associate degree or certification required. 
  • At least three to four years of related industrial experience required. 
  • Analysis and self-learning capacity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • Formal PLC training and 1 year of PLC experience.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Sit, stand, and/or walk for periods of five hours or more, move and examine objects at high and low reach, and read for periods of three hours or more.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and regularly stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. This position also requires manual dexterity/fine motor skills.
  • Ability to work up to twelve (12) hours shift, frequent overtime may also be required.

Compensation & Benefits

 

Hiring Salary Range: $ 32.00/Hr
