Primary Purpose of this Position:
Leads strategy & marketing function for the largest Ball Corp region in footprint to: create the regional strategy, set regional business priorities and pacing, provide market insights & analytics (associated with Comm Ops/Strategy), manage commercial operations and category marketing in close partnership with the Regional President and Enterprise Strategy, Insights & Commercial Excellence team.
What will you be responsible for?
- Responsible for developing and providing long-term guidance on regional business priorities building business cases complete with fact-base to support the regional business goals. Also, develops and communicates regional strategy connected to the Ball Corp enterprise strategy through a region priority lens. Makes recommendations and oversees business case recommendations within region.
- Overall responsibility for the critically important work around category marketing and portfolio management capabilities that allow us to understand our target markets and opportunities in-depth, translating this to robust customer value propositions and in working with the Enterprise Strategy and Innovation teams to manage our product portfolio to match our business needs.
- Leverages regional analytics, including operating unit regional analytics to support operating unit strategies/ commercial/category planning (analytics and use of data), and regional competitor profiles. Responsible for compilation of any specific operating unit secondary data – such as compilation of customer data (in consultation with the Global Insights team).
- Oversees regional commercial operations, including pipeline mgmt./sufficiency checks vs. plan (future state CRM needs), demand planning, forecasting & development of demand plan as part of S&OP/IBP process cadence, Net Promotor Score / CX, and working with commercial leads on talent skill and commercial enablement.
- Oversees regional category marketing team, including category management, building category plans, defining insights needed to support category plan, feeding innovation pipeline, supporting in-region commercialization of new products, regional Playing To Win strategy development and deployment, channel strategies and SKU rationalization, as well as the front-end of the critical innovation development process working with the Center of Excellence for Strategy and Marketing to fill the innovation ideation funnel.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, strategy, marketing or related field with preference towards a Master’s degree in business, strategy, marketing or related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategy, marketing or closely related work at leadership level
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading teams in a matrix environment
- Thinking long-term, aligning marketing efforts with overall business goals, and adapting to changing landscapes.
- Understanding and applying the latest trends, consumer behavior, and industry dynamics is crucial.
- Growth planning and development in market or region of business; requires geographic understanding, analysis and difference.
- Overseeing marketing and strategy activity for medium to large B2B companies.
Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Complex business strategy principles, process and application for results
- Enterprise analytics and insights connectivity to drive business growth and performance
- Commercial process, operations, demand forecasting and pipeline management
- Category management, including category plans, channel strategy, and product rationalization
Compensation & Benefits:
- This role will be based in Westiminster, CO. Relocation will be considered.
- Hiring Salary Range: $ 230,000 - 320,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
