Primary Purpose of this Position: 

The VP, Regional Core & Emerging Account Development will lead a portfolio of customers & P&Ls across diverse geography for the region. This will include core accounts, emerging customers, and business development/new logo sales. You will lead individual contributors and leaders that grow business in respective areas/accounts to grow business to region targets and will lead the team in creating/developing effective strategies to win with customers. 


What will you be responsible for? 

  • Develop and execute commercial strategy in region for diverse customer portfolio aligned with enterprise strategy; owns and delivers P&L for customer against growth, goals, and KPIs aligned enterprise and global strategies through direct impact and team leadership  

  • Sets pace and priority across core, emerging and new logo sales; accountable for set contribution margin result across region customer portfolio to annual operating plan  

  • Leads team to grow business and relationship with customers by developing a deep understanding of customer’s business; grows business and/or wallet share by leading team to secure new customers, maximize emerging customers and grow core customers through opportunity by identifying innovation opportunities in both existing and new products  

  • Leads team to develop and manage strong relationship with customers in portfolio, including day-to-day to long-term partnership, managing important items escalated and bringing stakeholders together for unified approach to customer; may manage a core or region customer directly   

  • Owns pipeline of new opportunities in partnership with Strategy & Marketing; negotiates or supports negotiation for contracts, including aspects of negotiation plan, removing barriers, finding solutions for the customer and Ball   

  • Recommends pricing structure in close partnership with region president, finance and other stakeholders to achieve company results  

  • Leads team members to drive value for the customer and Ball, coaches and develops team for optimal performance; develops others to succeed, addresses issues proactively and transparently  

  • Coordination of litigation resources along with the global litigation leader and CLO.  


What are we looking for? 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher 

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales work, with 3-5 years in senior commercial account leadership  

  • Leader is an experienced and proven commercial professional with outstanding skillset, track record and broad network at different levels in large and/or global organizations. This person must have proven experience in leading strategic account activities for large region or global customers, developing and executing strategic account strategies and will have a track-record in the development of deep customer relationships including handling critical situations.   

  • Demonstrated strong commercial financial acumen.  

  • Consistently leading and achieving results, even under tough circumstances; highly driven and enthused by reaching even ambitious targets, has a strong track record of driving profitable growth, systematically identifying, targeting and exploiting business opportunities.   

  • Experience as a dynamic and driven entrepreneur for their business, having a good overall view of the market trends and opportunities with customers to maximize the impact for the company; shows growth orientation as well as attention to bottom line.   

  • Leader can prioritize measures and actions by their bottom-line impact and has always the result for entire Ball in mind, not only the outcome for their own area of responsibility.   

  • Demonstrated success in building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions, including growth, share of wallet and exceeding KPIs. 

  • Track record of seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. 

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking bringing business success/exceeding measurements and goals.  

  • Demonstrates an enterprise mindset with a region focus. 

  • Demonstrated excellent sales and negotiation skills. Leader will be an experienced networker both with customers as well as within the organizations and has a track record in establishing and maintaining a high profile. Moreover, has proven to be effective at different levels of the customer organization. 

  • Demonstrated success at handling conflict situations effectively. Will recognize sources of conflict, such as cultural, functional, or geographic issues, and is able to resolve them, balancing short- and long-term benefits.  

  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of different stakeholders both internally and externally to work together effectively and is willing to take risks in the interest of advancing a collaborative relationship.  

  • Ability to facilitate the sharing of best practices across functions and regions and is seen as an enabler of the company as they work to ensure that the mutual interests of all parties are met 

  • Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. 

  • Ability to maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. 

  • Creates new and better ways for the organization to be successful; ability to look at market opportunities and drive innovation for win-win partnerships 

  • Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people. 


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hiring Salary Range: $230,000-350,000. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
  • This role is eligible to participate in our short and long-term incentive bonus programs.
