Primary Purpose of the Position: 

Responsible for daily administration of financial derivative trades including maintaining the outstanding trades in the treasury systems, derivative confirmations, cash settlements and assisting with the financial analysis of commodity, foreign currency and interest rate derivatives.  Responsible month end settlement processes and Treasury reporting system loading into accounting systems. This role will be responsible for maintaining the global capital equipment program (invoice, payment and FX). The role will also execute commodity and FX derivatives for the divisions as needed.

 

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Responsible for trade input and accounting designation into the  treasury management systems (Quantum/Kiodex) to maintain the Corporation’s worldwide financial derivative positions for commodities, foreign currency, equity and interest rate derivatives as well as all related  back-office activities  (confirmations, systems and settlements).
  • Assists Global Financial Risk team with financial analysis on global commodity, foreign currency and interest rate exposures and prepares presentation material for metal committee and derivative hedging reviews with senior management
  • Responsible for month end processes, and assist with Quarterly and annual deliverables to Corporate accounting for regulatory filings
  • Coordinates and monitors all invoicing, payments and foreign exchange exposure for the global capital equipment lease program.  Communicated directly with internal parties (Sourcing, Engineering) and external equipment leasing bank.
  • Maintains knowledge and regularly reports on financial markets that impact the company’s risk profile. Utilizes Reuters/Bloomberg to monitor and price derivatives as well as create and generate reports as needed.
  • Performs spot foreign exchange trades via ecommerce platform in support of the Global Financial Risk team as needed
  • Execute commodity trades for the regional divisions
  • Research daily requests on incoming receipts and outgoing payments for both internal and external customers.
  • Utilizing the corporate treasury workstation, assists with the monitoring and setup of new derivative structures and intercompany loans, as well as tracking and reporting.
  • Utilizes TriResolve software application to track and match all month end trade deal count and mark to market positions with each bank counterparty in support of SOX reporting requirement. Assist Global Financial Risk team with all related SOX reporting requirements
  • Manage and maintain the SharePoint site for Hedge Accounting designations

 

Position Requirement & Competencies:

  • Broad training in a related financial field usually acquired through college or work-related experience. 
  • Undergraduate degree with interest in continuing graduate education or CFA designation. Candidates who are currently completing their degree and are expected to graduate prior to the anticipated start date are encouraged to apply
  • Related work experience for 1 – 3 years preferred.

  • Ability to conduct detailed research assignments; excellent oral and written skills to summarize and communicate research findings and conclusions to senior management.
  • Positive, proactive individual with excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Ability to work with different organizational teams with competing interests/priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with limited direction and within limited time schedules.  

 

Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics and global financial markets.
  • Understanding of derivative instruments and the components required to price. 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:  $66,700 - $79,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
