Primary purpose of the position:
This position is part of a team responsible for the daily administration of corporate-sponsored benefits and compensation programs, with a primary focus on U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension plans, including 401(k), defined benefit pension, and deferred compensation programs. The role supports program communication, implementation, administration, and compliance, while partnering with team members who support Health and Group Benefits and other compensation programs. The position reports to the Manager, U.S. Benefits, and aligns with the Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE) strategy.
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Under the general guidance of the Manager, U. S Benefits, this role is accountable for the daily administration and procedures of a variety of Total Rewards programs, with a primary focus in U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension programs, including 401(k), defined benefit pension, and deferred compensation programs. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Attends regularly scheduled calls with external vendors
- Reconciles escalated issues and provide assistance to management, human resources colleagues, employees and retirees until resolution is attained
- Assists in the development and deployment of communication materials for effective, accurate presentation of the plans to employees and HR
- Creates and monitors any required plan funding requests, billing/funding and other reports to Treasury and/or Finance, proactively identifying and recommending remediation of any significant amounts/fluctuations; Reconciles plan expenses to the record keeper, trust and auditors
- Coordinates with HRIS and payroll functions relating to data feeds, deductions and system setup, running extracts, and reports as necessary
- Reviews data transmission/ specification requirements and validation of error reports and any changes with suppliers/partners and internal stakeholders and updates related process documentation
- Employee program enrollment coordination and testing
- Maintains plan documents and handles plan compliance-related tasks, potentially including assistance with completion of IRS Form 5500, SARs, updates to Summary Plan Descriptions, coordinates annual plan audits, data validation, and other regulatory reporting
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all current and past (grandfathered) provisions of plans and programs
- Supports preparation and presentations to Ball’s governing committees
- Assists company representatives in responding to union requests for benefit information and grievance cases
- Compiles reports and assists analysts in tracking and analyzing issues and trends
- Complies and completes surveys within Total Rewards
- Leads and/or supports audits, reconciliation and reporting initiatives
- Participates on project teams and may play a project management role to implement new benefits/programs, support acquisitions/divestitures, support union negotiation processes and outcomes/changes, support system changes and other initiatives as necessary
- Continuously identifies areas for process improvement and implements the creation, updates and regularly reviews procedure documents and process flows
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, U.S. Benefits, some of which may become permanent responsibilities; Participates in special projects as assigned and performs individual assignments as management may direct
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division group, company and vendors, including ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive, respectful and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts
Professional & Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Job related experience of 2 - 3 years minimum, with specific expertise in U.S. Retirement & Savings and Pension programs

- BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Possesses a detailed understanding of policies, procedures and application. Through acquired experience understands function and can assist with interpretation of policies and process details.
- ANALYSIS / PROBLEM SOLVING: References documented process and practices to address challenges. May handle more common complex challenges but escalates situations that have not been encountered previously.
- DECISION MAKING: Decisions are based on prescribed guidelines and the ability to research, understand, interpret and validate the details of unfamiliar situations. Provides recommendations on escalated issues.
- ORGANIZATION: Prioritizing workload in a manner consistent with direction and departments objectives. Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking and maintaining productivity in an environment subject to frequent interruption and high volume of activities and multiple deadlines.
- COMMUNICATION: Able to articulate specific details, thoughts and ideas tactfully, clearly and succinctly. Provides the information people need to know. Provides customers complete, timely and accurate information. Demonstrates good oral, written and listening skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Expected Hiring Salary Range: $66,700, - $93,160 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
