Job Description

Provides technical support to the cost accounting function as directed.

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Performs month-end close process and assists in the analysis and preparation of divisional financial results for the corporate consolidation
  • Performs quarterly account reconciliations and balance sheet variance analysis
  • As plant contact, partner with plant Finance managers across North America and Mexico to continue standardization of month-end close process, communicates divisional directives to ensure proper implementation, provide training on new processes and policies, and help address various accounting questions
  • Cost Accounting: participates in the annual inventory revaluation, maintains standard costs of raw materials and manufactured items
  • Work on various projects as assigned and continuously find ways to improve through creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive processes and leveraging technology
  • Liaises with other functions and shared services functions in the performance of accounting responsibilities and in implementing company-wide initiatives, support audit requests as needed
  • Performs adhoc duties and monthly analysis as needed to support divisional functions
  • Participates in the annual Physical Inventory of Raw materials and Finished Goods

 

What are we looking for?

  • Broad training in a related field acquired through Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  Finance degree may be acceptable with recent and relevant accounting work experience.
  • Job related experience for 3 years minimum.
  • Certifications/Licenses/Other:  CPA preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the following areas:  advanced accounting principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; cost accounting, computer spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (MS Word) programs.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hiring Salary Range: $67,700 - $101,500 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Other Compensation:   This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
