Position Overview:
As the Senior Manager, Global Best Practices & Standards, you are a key member of Ball’s Global Operational Excellence team, reporting to the Senior Director of Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain Excellence. You will contribute to the success of Ball by establishing and maintaining global management systems standards and data within manufacturing operations. You will ensure efficiency, quality and consistency across all global locations and functions.
Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include:
- Set, deploy, and ensure standards around our Ball Operational Excellence program.
- Cooperate with the owners of other areas/pillars ( Safety, Quality, Maintenance/Engineering, People and Technical Training) and provide standards for these groups to ensure all are operating under the same guidelines.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures by collaborating with stakeholders to define Best & Good practices, creating comprehensive guidelines, and establishing protocols for monitoring adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities through engaging with departments, facilitating brainstorming sessions, and analyzing data.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established standards by designing audit frameworks, conducting routine inspections, and documenting findings.
- Provide training and support to ensure adoption of best practices by developing training materials, offering coaching, and monitoring progress.
- Continuously evaluate and update standards to align with industry trends and regulatory requirements by staying abreast of developments, conducting benchmarking studies, and revising standards as needed.
- Reporting: Global KPI reporting and compliance to BOE standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or relevant discipline.
- 7 years of experience minimum in manufacturing operations (preference for roles in roles such as production supervisor, operations manager, or manufacturing engineering)
- 3 years minimum of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles with a focus on implementation of improvements.
- Demonstrated skills:
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights to improve manufacturing processes and standards
- Efficient, concise verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, instructions and recommendations
- Management skills to effectively plan, execute, and monitor initiatives related to implementing best practices and standards
- Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams towards common goals of achieving manufacturing excellence and adherence to global standards
- Working knowledge:
- Different manufacturing processes across industries, such as discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Lean principles.
- Continuous improvement methodologies such as, Kaizen, 5S, and value stream mapping.
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and data analytics tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Expected Hiring Salary Range: $115,000 - $189,700 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Westminster, Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for {three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Travel (10%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
