Primary purpose of the position:
The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst provides critical financial partnership to Ball Corporation’s commercial organization, supporting global key accounts to smaller customers. This role delivers strategic insights, pricing expertise, and financial modeling to enable profitable growth and strengthen Ball’s market position.
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work environment.
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to the commercial team, providing analytical insights and recommendations to empower data-driven selling decisions.
- Act as a creative problem solver, developing innovative financial solutions to support commercial strategy and customer negotiations.
- Deliver financial support across the commercial organization, from global key accounts to smaller regional customers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and profitability goals.
- Partner cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment of pricing and profitability strategies.
- Develop a deep understanding of complex customer contracts, including pricing components, unique clauses, and performance commitments.
- Lead the creation and analysis of customer pricing, incorporating complex components such as aluminum costs, inflation, and freight.
- Perform pricing maintenance activities for the annual budget, including inflation calculations and other pricing inputs.
- Build and manage financial models in Excel to assess the impact of pricing proposals on operating earnings, margin, and cash flow.
- Present financial impacts and insights to senior leadership, translating detailed analysis into clear business recommendations.
- Optimize processes and tools to enhance agility, efficiency, and accuracy within the commercial finance function.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end times of work.
- Ad-hoc projects so as other tasks in line with company needs
Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.
Position Requirement & Competencies:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
- Job related experience for 5 year(s) minimum
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard finance techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Finance, Essbase, Economic Value Added (EVA)
- P&L management
- Business and economic principles and practices
- Financial modeling
- Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, JDE One World and other applicable software applications
Skills:
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard finance techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
- Hiring Salary Range: $74,600 - $104,160 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
