Primary purpose of the position:

This leader will manage, resource, and align a number of cross-functional projects across our organization. The role will  lead and influence multiple projects ranging in size and complexity across region/business footprint to enable customer growth and/or resource optimization. 


Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Leads and coordinates the efforts of business projects within their portfolio, that are tied to the regions strategic plan or growth ambition; coordinates the establishment of the project portfolio definition, establishes the governance to define the structure and processes for their project, from demand management and strategic alignment of projects and programs to portfolio categories and criteria, through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.
  • Actively leads and influences functional counterparts within the organization and through all stages of planning and development of projects objectives within their portfolio; including directing and deciding allocation of the department’s resources, timing, etc., needed to assure project completion.
  • Delivers the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects in the portfolio, and resolves or escalates conflicts to senior stakeholders as necessary.  Dictates prioritization and decisions to stop, pause, or elevate existing projects within the portfolio as resourcing conflicts arise.
  • Manages the investment process for the projects in their portfolio, which may span multiple functional/technical teams and/or years; includes budget management. 
  • Leads reviews of all projects in their portfolio in various stages of their lifecycle, including those that are challenged and provides direction for “path to green”:  continue on path, be significantly changed, placed on hold or stopped.
  • Leads stakeholders, project teams, and functions in defining, scoping, and staffing new initiatives. 
  • Ensures alignment to business objectives of their portfolio . Develops communications documents, including portfolio status reports.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations within their portfolio to stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Acts as liaison with business stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve program goals.
  • Drafts and submits budget proposals, and makes subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Create reporting, analysis, and KPIs to hold the PMO and business to account for the objectives and deliverables within their projects.

 

Position Requirements & Competencies:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, project management or related field.
  • Master's degree in Bussiness Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience doing project leadership work or project management or related experience 
  • Organizational skills such as managing deadlines, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and leading work to deliver results. 
  • Demonstrated skill in managing conflicting priorities and leading through to successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skill in working effectively cross-functionally across multiple teams, stakeholders and levels to identify potential risks, assess their impacts, develop mitigation strategies and manage projects successfully.
  • Demonstrated skill in management of integration, scope, time, cost, quality, negotiation, and conflict resolution within cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated skill in effective communication for conveying information, instructions, and feedback to team members and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and frameworks like agile, waterfall, Kanban, etc.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and continuous improvement processes such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Working knowledge of productivity software and tools such as microsoft project, teams, etc.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
  • Hiring Salary Range: $96,000 - $137,180 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
