Position Overview:

 

As the Project Manager, Manufacturing Operational Efficiencies, you are a key member of the Manufacturing Operational Efficiencies Team;  reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Efficiencies for North & Central America (NCA) region. You will contribute to the success of Ball by establishing and enforcing project management excellence standards to optimize project processes, enhance project analysis techniques, and provide practical recommendations to improve Ball's project outcomes, ensuring project success and alignment with organizational goals. 

 

Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include: 

 

  • Develop comprehensive project plans considering business case, customers, suppliers, scope, timelines, comprehensive budgets, resources, and leading project execution timely and within-budget execution.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of multiple business projects within BPNCA going on simultaneously with cross functional stakeholders; driving the scope of the project, project structure and processes, from demand management, strategic alignment, to portfolio categories and criteria, through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.  
  • Oversee multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and delivering results; project scope includes but not limited to new line startups up, and Green Field projects.  
  • Manage & align the budget/funding process for the projects in their portfolio, which may span multiple functional/technical teams and/or years and make subsequent budget changes where necessary. Provide project oversight, quality reviews, and coordination of deliverables, ensuring effective project reporting. Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects in the portfolio, and resolve conflicts.
  • Effectively communicate and influence cross-functionally with plant personal, Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Quality, and Supply Chain stakeholders, and Executive Leadership team on project expectations, progress, timeline and updates clearly and effectively.
  • Responsible for startups and other project outcomes which will be direct link that will positively impact BPNCA’s critical KPIs.
  • Effectively communicate formal project updates through cadences and presentations to the Executive Leadership team. 
  • Lead reviews of all projects in their portfolio in various stages of their lifecycle, including those that are challenged and execute recommendations to get back on track: continue on path, be significantly changed, placed on hold or stopped.

 

Required Experience, Education and Skills: 

 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering
  • 5 years of project management activities including:  
    • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Trello, Jira, etc.  
    • Experience with phases of Engineering or IT Projects.
    • Experience with various project management methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and other continuous improvement methodologies ( e.g., DMAIC, Kanban, and Lean Six Sigma ).
    • Experience with project Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and status tracking.  
    • Experience with phases of innovation projects and complex process mapping.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience  working on large-scale initiatives in an engineering or technology environment.
  • Demonstrated Skills: 
    • Organizational, analytical, interpersonal communication and presentation and attention to detail.
    • Experience with financial assumptions and budgeting.
    • Data Management activities and data analysis, BI Tools and dashboard management.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading and developing project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems functionality (SAP) 

 

 Compensation & Benefits

 

  • Hiring Salary Range: $96,000 -  $137,180 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

  • Hybrid Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel (up to 40%)  and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.
