Position Overview:


As the Procurement Specialist, you’re a key member of the Procurement- Metal team, reporting to the Regional Procurement Category Manager-Metal. You will contribute to the success of Ball by ensuring that goods and services are procured as necessary, to ensure supply for the organization.

 

Your Key Areas of  Responsibility Include:

 

  • Manage coil metal inventory control.  
  • Reporting for expiring or aged Purchase Orders (PO) PO administration, clean up, and close out.
  • Serve as a resource and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for questions/issues relating to buying processes for stakeholders at plants supported.  
  • Support Category Managers with spend analytics and requirements gathering and by executing best-in-class processes.
  • Identify and present process improvement opportunities.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve price, quality, or delivery issues, initiate trials, and onboarding new metal suppliers.
  • Serve as a point of contact between suppliers and our North American plants. 

 

Required Experience and Skills: 

 

  • Associates degree or  equivalent work-related experience; with a  preference for a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or other business-related disciple.
  • 1 ½ years  of relevant experience in an inventory control or procurement type of role.
  • Experience completing complete routine procurement transactions effectively, efficiently and accurately from requisition to purchase order close, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstred skills:

    • Demonstrated team collaboration and ability to influence others for positive outcomes.
    • Strong organization & attention to detail skills.
    • Solid judgment with an ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing circumstances and manage change and ambiguity effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite  (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).     

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

 

  • Experience with procurement and supply chain management ERP software, (such as: JD Edwards, SAP and/or Coupa).
  • Good understanding of a procure-to-pay process and procurement-related policies, procedures, processes and risks, and the ability to apply that understanding to daily work.
  • Working knowledge of current principles, practices, and methods pertaining to procurement.

 

Compensation & Benefits

 

  • Hiring Salary Range: $66,000- $92,200 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Westminster, Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
