Position Overview:


As a Regional Manufacturing Excellence Lead for NCA, you are a key member of the Ball Operational Excellence Team;  reporting to the Manufacturing Excellence Senior Manager. You will contribute to the success of Ball by managing plant-based Manufacturing Excellence Managers in the deployment of a Lean-based manufacturing excellence model to ensure standardization, operational excellence and significant value across the North and Central America (NCA) region.  


Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include: 

 

  • Support and manage key assignments and improvement efforts as needed, including deployment strategy, planning, training, coaching, problem solving, project management, people development and resource development.
  • Facilitate change and support deployment, adoption and sustainment of Lean thinking and a standard Lean-Based Management System within the region.
  • Identify, clarify, and resolve barriers to achieving operational excellence in manufacturing plants/regional production groups.
  • Lead multiple strategic and operational improvement projects from identification, inception, and analysis to implementation and sustainable execution that delivers manufacturing cost savings.
  • Drive successful evolution of and execution on Manufacturing Excellence Model to be the most competitive in cost, quality and service by continually driving for efficiencies in our processes.
  • Deliver on the organization’s priorities, working closely with leadership in defining, scoping, launching, and implementing new initiatives. Collaborate with decision makers and stakeholders to minimize risk.
  • Facilitate and make complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction and use a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the specific Ball region manufacturing team.
  • Manage risk by effectively and clearly communicating project effort, progress, achievements, problems and failures on a timely basis.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by initiating best practice sharing and benchmarking within the global best practice SharePoint site and outwardly to the region by liaising with the other sub-regional Continuous Improvement leaders.


Required Skills and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Engineering-related discipline or other related discipline or equivalent experience in high-speed manufacturing.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with deployment of Lean methodologies in a manufacturing setting.  
  • Demonstrated skills in the following:
    • Management and leadership of others
    • Project Management
    • Delivering results through influencing
    • Computer proficiency- specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Adapting style to effectively interact with different audiences (shopfloor to executive leadership)
  • Working Knowledge of :
    • Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques
    • Financial statements
    • Coaching and training techniques
    • Managing various stakeholders in a matrix organization

 

Compensation & Benefits

 

  •  Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel  (30-40%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations is required. 
  • Hiring Salary Range: $85,100 - $118,760 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
