Primary Purpose of this Position: 

The Manager, Retail Account Management is responsible for driving distribution and velocity for the Ball Aluminum Cup within retail channel. You will build partnerships with customer category buying teams and brokers to grow volume via portfolio expansion and best-in-class 5P execution. This role will drive growth within high profile retail segments of business and focuses on delivering against committed targets. 

 

What will you be responsible for? 

  • Delivers company revenue and profitability targets and leads Customer annual business plans to meet and exceed defined volume and revenue targets in retail customer portfolio (other Channels as needed).

  • Serves as key point of contact in support of all related major activities and analyses for assigned account(s). 

  • Responsible for assigned account(s), including analysis and research of historical trends, market trends, market capacity, and competitive environment to influence strategy development for channel/customers.

  • Manages buyer relationships for assigned account(s), both directly and by managing broker contacts, to ensure account plans are executed to achieve targets; identifies growth opportunities by leveraging strong relationship and customer/market knowledge.

  • Leads planning and execution of business development tactics in the Customer’s organization (Promotions, Features, Display, Digital/Ecommerce).

  • Owns broker relationship to drive sales within broker responsibilities; holds broker contacts accountable for managing customer relationship, troubleshooting issues and escalates foreseen business challenges.

  • Responsible detailed action plans for key retailers and distributors in Salesforce, including development and accountable for execution.

  • Communicates the status of the business to Strategy & Marketing during weekly meetings.

  • Manages internal and external communication with Ball Aluminum Cup colleagues/peers, brokers, and category buyers.

  • Manages annual T&E budget and assigned trade according to company policy.

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, marketing, or related preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial sales 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing retail customer relationships 

  • 30% - 40% travel required

  • Customer Relations:  

    • Account management experience in CPG category with major retailers.

    • Developing strong relationships with customers resulting in sales and partnership.

    • Planning and taking actions to win with retail customers.

    • Presenting value proposition and negotiating terms and conditions. 

  • Knowledge of:  

    • Sales cycles in retail, planning, Selling Cycle Process (Prospecting, Preparation, Presentation, Closing, Execution). 

    • S&OP process.

    • Sales planning and operations.

    • Retail market and customer shopping behavior.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This role can be based remotely. 
  • Hiring Salary Range: $ 96,000 - $137,180 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
