Position Overview:
As a the Regional Procurement Category Manager - Metal, you are a key member of the Metal Procurement Execution team for North & Central America (NCA), reporting to the Sr. Director, Regional Procurement Execution NCA. You will contribute to the Ball’s success by owning the category management lifecycle process for metal, including development, implementation, and execution of the detailed category management strategy, identification of opportunities, definition of the annual goals. '
In this role, you will hold primary ownership of the management of the supplier relationship process and work closely with their global counterparts to provide input into global category strategies and ensure that those global strategies are executed to the benefit of the company.
Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include:
- Provide direction and management support for a Regional Category Management team, including setting goals and ensuring that the team is working toward achievement of those goals.
- Support the efforts of the team members with their categories, on the category management lifecycle process, including gathering, analyzing, and reporting on key market intelligence, developing a long-term, multi-year category strategy and development and evaluation of “go to market” strategies.
- Leverage multiple sources of market intelligence and data to make data-informed decisions.
- Develop a comprehensive view of the balance between supply and demand and actively monitors market conditions for the team’s categories on an ongoing basis in order to make informed decisions.
- Develop and evaluate of “go to market” strategies for regional categories and can achieve creative commercial outcomes through negotiation planning and successful execution by directing cross functional teams of stakeholders.
- Work across business units and engage with Global Category teams and leadership to facilitate positive outcomes for the organization.
- Support the efforts of the team members with their suppliers, on the performance management process for regional suppliers, including regular business reviews.
- Proactively report progress against sourcing goals for the specified period.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
- 5 years minimum experience in procurement or sourcing direct materials, preferably metal procurement.
- 2 years demonstrated leadership experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree (e.g. MBA)
- Advanced certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM, CPSC, PMP)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Expected Hiring Salary Range: $98,900 - $141,330 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
