Primary purpose of the position:
Provides strategic financial support for the Capital/BOE Finance team, with close partnership to the Strategic Commercial, and Supply Chain Transformation teams. This position is responsible for running business case scenarios to support the decision making process within the global capital expenditure program, including analyzing, forecasting, reporting, and recommending best use of investments based on financial analysis and modelling. Acts as liaison with SC/Ops and growth executive leadership teams on the best use of capital dollars and supports global reporting requirements and financial insights.
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Ownership of capex governance and financial modelling for the NCA region
- Evaluate, oversee, and manage capital expenditures throughout the organization to ensure investments are aligned with its strategic goals, properly budgeted and maintained, and delivering expected returns
- Develop financial models to drive EVA (Economic Value Added) growth throughout the business.
- Model business case financials for strategic opportunities, CapEx projects, and footprint scenarios to support global visibility and understanding for leadership.
- Oversee project financial forecasts by collaborating cross functionally to gather assumptions, update financial models and prepare content for presentation to leadership.
- Standardize and utilize EVA modelling to support the business in making strategic business decisions globally.
- Manage complex data analysis to support business case development, coordinating closely with commercial strategy, operations, and other planning and finance teams.
- Supports the strategy team with ad-hoc analysis on matters including footprint analysis, strategic initiatives, financial simulations and ongoing tracking against approved projects.
- Maintains a working relationship with BOE, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams globally to understand reporting routines and KPIs in order to support accurate financial results and strategic short-term and long-term business goals.
- Identifies and executes on continuous improvement opportunities and global standardization to leverage best practices globally.
Position Requirement & competencies:
- Broad training in a related field, usually acquired through Bachelor’s degree in finance or work-related experience. Accounting degree may be acceptable with recent and relevant finance work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance preferred.
- Job related experience for 5 years minimum.
Skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Systems literate including strong Excel capability.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data and make recommendations.
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of the following areas: advanced accounting principles, practices, financial analysis, and procedures, computer spreadsheets (Excel) and work processing (MS Word) programs.
- Knowledge of JDE, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP system preferred
- Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, HFM, and other applicable software applications preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
- Hiring Salary Range: $93,100 - $133,290 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
