Primary Purpose of the Position 
Lead a team of master supply planners, managing the inventory and supply planning processes to include master production schedules, inventory positions and distribution plans to ensure that production efficiency, inventory investment and customer service objects are met in North and Central America.  Work closely with commercial, sourcing and manufacturing plants to ensure finished goods are available to meet established customer expectations.  Develop the talent of team through structured performance management and maintaining a leadership presence.


Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Manages staff of centralized master supply planners and ensures back up for their positions as needed.
  • Responsible for the teams development of master production schedules across the Beverage Packaging North and Central America network.  The master production schedules will ensure maximum manufacturing efficiencies as well as optimal inventory levels while enabling delivery to customer requirements.
  • Directs distribution of inventory throughout the network to ensure inventory is available to meet customer delivery requirements within the confines of the network plan.  Capture and report distribution requirements outside of network plan.
  • Ensures that conversion schedules for conversion lines are established and maintained with appropriate timing to support inventory plans and metal sourcing lead times and communicated to sourcing, commercial and impacted customers.
  • Works with management and inventory planners to develop safety stock and inventory strategies.
  • Drive reduction of Obsolete/Slow Moving inventory via the master supply planners and coordination with commercial and KAM teams.
  • Ensure that master supply planners create and maintain critical data elements in the ERP and APS tools to ensure accuracy of supply, inventory, production and distribution plans.
  • Works with management to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies. Develops and implements continuous improvement practices and LEAN management methodologies across our production planning and scheduling processes.
  • Coordinate across the supply network lead-time-reduction activities to achieve the projected planned schedule requirements, and support industry best-in-class production lead time.
  • Identify deviations from established plans, and develop recovery plans.
  • Monitor S&OP plans to ensure alignment with the master production schedule.
  • Communicate master production schedules with manufacturing & plant management.
  • Measures, analyses and reports key process metrics.  Monitors adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, monitor and communicate reports on inventory and process execution to business unit and supply chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead team member skill and knowledge development through structured performance management to ensure success of the team.


Position Requirement & Competencies:

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
  • Job related experience for 5 years minimum 
  • APICS certification is a plus
  • Experience in a high velocity and complex manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: JD Edwards, Oracle Value Chain Planning, APICS Production and Inventory planning methodologies, Microsoft Office

 Compensation & Benefits


- Hiring Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
