Position Overview:


As a Master Supply Planner Manager, you’re a key member of the Supply Chain Execution Planning Team, reporting to the Director, Executional Planning. You will contribute to the success of Ball by leading a team of master supply planners, and ensure backup for their position, as needed.    As the leader of the team, you will manage the inventory and supply planning processes to include master production schedules, inventory positions and distribution plans to ensure that production efficiency, inventory investment and customer service objects are met in North and Central America.


Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:  

 

  • Work closely with commercial group,  sourcing and manufacturing plants to ensure finished goods are available to meet established customer expectations.
  • Develop the talent of team through structured performance management and maintaining a leadership presence.
  • Direct distribution of inventory throughout the network to ensure inventory is available to meet customer delivery requirements within the confines of the network plan.  Capture and report distribution requirements outside of network plan.
  • Ensure that conversion schedules for conversion lines are established and maintained with appropriate timing to support inventory plans and metal sourcing lead times and communicated to sourcing, commercial and impacted customers.
  • Work with management and inventory planners to develop safety stock and inventory strategies.
  • Drive reduction of Obsolete/Slow Moving inventory via the master supply planners and coordination with commercial and Customer Success Manager (CSM) teams.
  • Ensure that master supply planners create and maintain critical data elements in the ERP and Advanced Planning System (APS) tools to ensure accuracy of supply, inventory, production and distribution plans.
  • Work with  leadership  to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies; develop and implement continuous improvement practices and LEAN management methodologies across our production planning and scheduling processes.
  • Coordinate across the supply network lead-time-reduction activities to achieve the projected planned schedule requirements, and support industry best-in-class production lead time.
  • Identify deviations from established plans, and develop recovery plans.
  • Monitor S&OP plans to ensure alignment with the master production schedule.
  • Communicate master production schedules with manufacturing & plant management.
  • Measure, analyze and report key process metrics; monitors adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, monitor and communicate reports on inventory and process execution to business unit and supply chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead team member skill and knowledge development through structured performance management to ensure success of the team. 

 

Required Education, Skills and Knowledge: 

 

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience.
  • 5 years minimum in a supply chain role.  
  • Experience in a high velocity and complex manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • 2+ or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • JD Edwards
    • Oracle Value Chain Planning
    • APICS Production and Inventory planning methodologies 

 

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

 

  • APICS certification.
  • Foreign language skills in Portuguese, Spanish , German or others.  

 

Compensation & Benefits

 

  • Hiring Salary Range: $98,900 - $141,330 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
