Position Overview:
As the Global Procurement Category Manager for Indirect Procurement, reporting to the Head of Global Indirect Procurement. You will contribute to the success of Ball by creating sourcing strategy, leveraging Ball’s global scale and spend, utilizing multiple sources of market intelligence and data to make data-informed decisions.
You will oversee the full “Ball Way of Procurement” processes for large global categories (typically >$100M spend, and up to $500M) from strategy development to execution. You will set goals, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with regional counterparts for optimal strategy implementation
Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

Lead the lifecycle process for large, global categories including gathering, analyzing, and reporting on key market intelligence, developing a long-term, multi-year category strategy and development and evaluation of “go to market” strategies.

Develop a comprehensive view of the balance between supply and demand and actively monitor market conditions on an ongoing basis in order to make informed decisions.

Develop and execute effective "go to market" strategies, facilitate successful negotiations, driving favorable commercial terms and value creation through negotiation planning and successful execution by directing cross functional teams of stakeholders; regular negotiations with VP, Director level at Suppliers

Work across business units and engage with Regional Category teams and leadership to facilitate positive outcomes for the organization.

Supplier Relationship Management: Lead supplier performance management processes and enhances supplier relationships, fostering accountability and driving continuous improvement,

Proactively report progress against global sourcing goals/for the specified period.
Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

Bachelors’ degree in a Supply Chain Management, Finance or other business related discipline.
- Eight (8) years minimum of progressively increasing responsibility experience in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting, or business-related operations on a global scale.
- Four (4) or more years Indirect procurement (such as: logistics, MRO, packaging).
- Demonstrated Skills:
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to extract key themes, determine root causes, develop creative solutions, and craft concise messages.
- Financial analytical and experience in enhancing value through advanced negotiation tactics.
- Strategic inclination, inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and self-motivated to identify trends and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives and strategic plans.
- Ability to build effective relationships, influence peers and key stakeholders, and build consensus.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in other languages such as: Spanish or Portuguese.
Compensation & Benefits

Hiring Salary Range: $108,500 - $155,030 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel (20-30%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.
