Position Overview:


As the Manager, Global Fire/Life Safety (FSPP) Programs, you’re a key member of  Global EHS Team, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Global Health & Safety Programs & Compliance. You will contribute to the success of Ball by  developing and  and executing a World Class Fire/Life Safety Systems. 
 

Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include: 

 

  • Manage, direct, and prioritize projects as required by the Corporate EHS Function to support internal and external stakeholders and leverage H&S Team expertise. 
  • Work with Corporate Risk Management Team, Regional EHS Teams, Regional Operations Directors, Plant/EHS Managers.  
  • Facilitate the development of plant and functional Fire Safety Property Protection (FSPP) rules, processes, tools to meet corporate guidelines, and in compliance with governmental regulations. 
  • Oversee Heath and Safety & FSPP assessments to identify potential or actual risks; assist in the development of responses/corrective actions to the assessment with the goal of improving Ball’s compliance and status of highly protected risk (HPR) sites globally. 
  • Work to improve department efficiency through streamlining processes.  Own the global FSPP CAPEX list, works with plants to develop corrective actions. 
  • Communicate concisely; efforts, progress, achievements, problems and failures related to FSPP compliance on a regimented basis. 
  • Initiate, review, document and implement FSPP standard operating procedures (SOPs).   
  • Guide team through large FSPP improvement projects and change management initiatives.  
  • Drive best practices across all global business units. 

 

Required Experience and Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline or 5-7 years of work related experience. 
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience providing advice and services on health and safety or FSPP across all entities within a corporation, demonstrating leadership in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing programs, processes, and tools to meet corporate FSPP/Safety guidelines and compliance with governmental regulations and laws in life safety .  
  • FSPP/Life Safety: the ability to apply intensive evaluation, and substantial modification of FSPP/Life Safety techniques procedures, and criteria.   Demonstrated successful experience in leading FSPP/Life safety in an industrial setting.
  • Experience working with 3rd party FSPP providers on surveys, reports and corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated Skills:
    • Communication: excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills 
    • Ability to provide a high degree of customer sensitivity and attention to detail. 

 

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading and managing FSPP program(s), process, reporting and tracking corrective actions.  Use of metrics, KPI/s and PIs related to FSPP improvement.
  • Broad working knowledge of global FSPP/Life Safety programs and principles. 

 

Compensation & Benefits

 

  • Our preferred location for this role is our Westminster, CO campus; but we will consider a REMOTE candidate, dependent on experience, qualifications and willingness to engage in regular travel to Colorado. 
  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: If based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel (30-40%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $93,000 - $133,290. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
