Position Overview:

 

As the Manager of Facilities and Services for Ball’s Global Headquarters, you are a key member of the Global Engineering team, reporting to the Manager, Equipment & Maintenance Engineering.  You will contribute to the success of Ball by ensuring safe, compliant, reliable and cost effective operations of all building systems and infrastructure while driving adherence to Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance.

 

In this role, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for all facilities-related functions across a multi-site portfolio including corporate offices and technology centers.

 

Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

 

  • Provide technical leadership for HVAC, building automation systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, roofing, life safety systems, irrigation, dock equipment, and other core infrastructure.
  • Create documented processes to ensure a standardized approach to facilities maintenance; implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance programs and ensure alignment with BOE standards.
  • Ensure consistent service delivery, work practices, and operational standards across all locations in the region.
  • Lead financial planning for corporate facilities budgets, manage capital and major maintenance projects, oversee outsourced service partners, and ensure facilities programs support business continuity and operational excellence.
    • Lead development and oversight of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for all corporate facilities, including forecasting, operational spend, variance analysis, and cost optimization.
    • Own and manage Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) for capital projects, major repairs, and infrastructure upgrades for corporate facilities
  • Act as the primary regional point of contact for facilities matters, partner closely with EHS,  Operations, Security, Finance, IT, and site leadership to deliver consistent service quality, mitigate risk, and enable long term facilities sustainability and performance.
    • Serve as the liaison for EHS to identify and correct hazards, Corporate Security, ADA compliance, environmental regulations and Emergency Response programs.
  • Oversee execution of the work order management process, ensuring prioritization, response times, quality, and proper documentation.
  • Manage outsourced service providers (e.g. vendor, contractors, specialty trades), ensuring safe work practices, positive contract performance, SLA adherence, and compliance with scopes of work.
    • Resolve escalations related to vendor performance, service interruptions, or contractor issues.
    • Conduct governance reviews, audits, and scorecards to ensure strong supplier accountability.
  • Lead planning and execution of corporate facility construction projects, remodels, utility system upgrades, and major repairs.
  • Collaborate with business leadership on occupancy planning, workspace allocation & facility expansions.

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 7 years of facilities maintenance experience, with demonstrated strong technical decision making across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building systems.
  • Effective project management for construction, remodels, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Financial planning and budget ownership, including AOP and capital management.
  • Vendor and contract management, including performance oversight and SLA governance.
  • Effective and collaborative communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross functional leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge:
    • Advanced facilities management practices, including preventive/predictive maintenance.
    • EHS, ADA, life safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Work order systems, building automation platforms, and ability to utilize facility management software (CMMS).
    • Facility governance processes and contractor management frameworks.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

 

  • Trade school or a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience and understanding of manufacturing environment requirements and how facility performance impacts operations.
  • Experience in corporate office, multi-site facilities management, maintenance or property management.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to corporate policies and governance.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

 

  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:  $98,900 - $141,330   (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Westminster Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for a minimum of three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
