Primary Purpose of this Position:
The Category Marketing Manager is a key leadership role within the marketing department, responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive business growth and achieve organizational objectives. This role involves creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies, leading cross-functional teams, analyzing market trends, building category plans and leveraging consumer insights to develop impactful campaigns. The Category Marketing Manager collaborates closely with senior leadership, innovation, commercial teams, external partners and customers to ensure alignment and successful execution of marketing initiatives.
What will you be responsible for?
- Collaborate with analytics team and customers to develop deep understanding of beverage categories, customer needs, and consumer buying behavior to identify opportunities for growth
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with commercial strategy to build business cases based on: consumer and customer value, technical feasibility and P&L viability to ensure prioritization of resources to deliver on growth objectives.
- Lead cross-functional innovation team through stagegate process. Develop commercialization plans and deliver go-to-market strategy for new product launches and commercial capability.
- Support development of value proposition through communication of core competencies and development of internal initiatives that create value for target customers and build positioning strategies.
- Translate Ball value proposition into customized stories that grow existing and engage new customers in T2T engagements.
- Collaborate with coms team to connect commercial initiatives to communication and media execution as well as arena partnerships
- Establish customer lifecycle management strategy to identify critical touchpoints along the customer journey for both new business and key accounts.
- Evaluate and execute tradeshow and trade media strategies
- Foster close working relationships with South America and EMEA marketing leads to establish global enterprise strategies and share best practices
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in consumer packaged goods industry in brand marketing, sales, revenue growth management, insights or finance.
- Experience with syndicated data systems like Nielsen or Circana, preferred.
- Customer facing experience.
- Analytical ability and can interpret data and insights to drive decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of the following areas:
- Marketing strategy, tactics and planning
- Analyzing data within categories, channels and products
- Marketing tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- Industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
- Hiring Salary Range: $93,100 - $133,290 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
