Primary purpose of the position:
The Technical Analyst provides technical expertise and support in a specialized area of IT Services (i.e., Infrastructure, Applications or Security), and provides project and operational support within that area of expertise, while being closely aligned with and supporting the solution architects responsible for a project. The Technical Analyst is responsible for studying business, functional and technical requirements and translating them into detailed design documents. In this role, the Technical Analyst is committed to providing technical inputs to Business Analysts during design and development, and supports the solution architects and consultants to plan and design solutions for projects. The Technical Analyst performs hands-on development, and is accountable for technical deliverables. Accountable for supporting the development of technical specifications, and participating in the delivery of complex, technical solutions to business needs.
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Design, deliver, administer and support complex environments including Cisco Networking Products (Wireless Security, Routers, Switches, Voice), Catalyst SD-WAN and related datacenter and branch office hardware infrastructure technologies.
- Design and implement monitoring, capacity and configuration management of complex technologies, ensuring acceptable performance and adherence to all defined service level agreements.
- Administer complex network infrastructure in a large corporate environment with global locations and 15k+ user base.
- Perform all duties within ITIL best practices guidelines for Incident, Change, Request, and Problem.
- Adhere to all security best practices, and governance and compliance laws such as HIPAA, SOX, GDPR, etc.
- Defines detailed specifications, in compliance with the operations architecture (which include infrastructure and security), to solve complex, business problems.

- Collaborate with internal customers to elicit their business concerns and translate them into system development requirements; define internal customer needs and required functionality early in the system development cycle.
- Participate in planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, new systems design, detailed project workplan and effort development, and implementation timelines.
- Participate in planning initiatives for system testing and configuration.
- Provide input for the development of detailed project workplans and effort estimates for solution development.
- Design systems test requirements to ensure fail-safe integration of the solution into the production system.
- Support defect escalation and identification of root cause.
- Communicate technical requirements in enough detail to IT stakeholders across domains, and conversely communicate technical solutions to BAs in non-technical terminology.
- Assists with application maintenance by analyzing, monitoring, and correcting complex software defects.
- Participates in efforts to resolve production-based technical issues.
Position Requirement & competencies:
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Job related experience for 2-5 years minimum.
- Experience with analysis level tools for: activity diagrams, use cases, business rules, and system level features.
- Expertise in various software development methodologies, e.g., XP, iterative.
- Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate and clearly formulate technical issues for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical development experience, with knowledge of associated tools, and software development lifecycle experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.]
- Hiring Salary Range: $75,400 - $105,290 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
