Primary Purpose of Position:

This  role as a Functional Consultant, resides in the ITS Global Service Delivery organization, which is responsible for Ball business applications globally. This role has responsibility for projects, business as usual, and operational support. Responsible for applying Business Process acumen and the ability to translate business requirements into ITS specifications, solution design, and configuration for Application and business capability areas.  This is an operational and delivery position requiring an understanding of the overall Ball business and business processes and effectively work in a global organization.


Essential Functions:

  • Translate Business demand requirements into ITS specifications, solution design, and complete configuration for implementation with adherence to global strategic platform guidelines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for impact analysis of process improvement efforts; provides leadership in the implementation and execution of technology solutions to complex business problems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Define cross-system solutions which map to re-engineered business processes.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide planning, estimates, application development, documentation, and support leadership using technology best practices.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work closely with other ITS resources, business stakeholders, and third-parties ensure solutions support business requirements and capabilities.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Fully understand the Demand and Change Management Processes, associated SLA’s, and ITS Standard operating procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Produce complete and meaningful  High Level Estimates (HLE’s) based on demand requests.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate as a key contributor in the design and development of complex applications and projects and is the expert in the technology selected.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Accountable to drive and ensure deliverables are complete based on defined timelines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for detailed specifications, derives estimates, and assigns component development tasks to the onshore/offshore development teams. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for knowledge transfer to ITS operations.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for participating on operational readiness review, Disaster Recovery & Business continuity.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure ongoing support of deployed solutions is handled in the correct manner from both a Business and Ball ITS perspective, therefore minimizing Business impact.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provide functional escalation support for ITS operations.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Build proactive and collaborative relationships with all teams (internal/external).
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Advocate and model the behaviors of continuous improvement processes for operations and service delivery; adhere to key KPI metrics such as SLA’s and OLA’s  
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Comply with software development life cycle (SDLC) policies to ensure delivery of quality solutions; as a lead, review software/hardware specifications; perform requirements analysis; conduct and participate in design review meetings; conduct peer to peer Code reviews.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Support project management tasks (estimating and planning dependencies/risks) and implementation (installation, configuration, programming/customization, integration, and data migration).
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Coordinate and perform unit testing; review test plans/strategies to ensure software quality.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participate in software release and post-release activities, including hypercare support.

    <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Position Requirements:
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">5-7 years of experience in JD Edwards GL, Intercompany and FA
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">1-4 JDE full cycle implementations, desired
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">2-5 years of experience in ERP configuration, support or IT operations
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Advanced knowledge of standard accounting practices, GAAP and multi-national accounting
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree required - Computer Science, MIS, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Integration with Financial Tools and Reporting.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems are desired.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong ability in MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Visio and MS Project
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Certifications/Licenses/Other:  Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, COBIT, ITIL, CMMi
