Position Overview:
As the Engineer, Capital Projects Standardization, you’re a key member of the Global Process and Capital Standardization Team, reporting to the Sr Manager, Global Process and Capital Standardization. You will contribute to the success of Ball by working with global stakeholders to provide information on active projects. You will focus on continuous improvement of capital process by documenting lessons learned and improving the global standards.
Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:
- Work with Regional Capital Project teams to create, maintain and report on control tools for Global Portfolio Management, including project statuses, budgets and incoming pipeline.
- Oversee all works on assigned projects, from start to completion; must be willing to form part of a multi-disciplinary team where the objective of the team is to complete the project, and as such must be flexible in approach to all tasks arising within the scope of the project.
- Partner with regional director / plant manager / plant engineer to establish full scope of project or root cause of problems.
- Generate of specifications and project specific criteria, work in conjunction with other functions within Ball Engineering group where necessary.
- Communicate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and other contractors to ensure compliance with applicable Ball specifications, standards and project specific criteria.
- Liaison with appropriately skilled engineers / suppliers / contractors to ensure selection of suitable components and systems to be used in accordance with project location or project specific criteria.
- Write equipment specifications to be used on a project and update plant specific documents, when required.
- Commissioning support – full involvement in the testing, start-up and debug of equipment or system until such time as it has reached its design efficiency - this may involve modifications to an original design and updates to documentation.
Required Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent education; with a preference towards Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management or other relevant discipline.
- 3 years experience minimum of with standardization and process controls.
- 2 years minimum of experience portfolio or project management.
- Demonstrated skills in the following:
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently within parameters set by leadership and self- motivated to seek out additional assignments; ability to independently determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
- Manage sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
- Establish and maintain effective, positive and productive work relationships across the company and with all levels of personnel.
- Working with multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using AutoCad.
- Process Mapping and Controls.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish or any other foreign language.
- Project Management certification (such as: CAPM or PMP ).
- Microsoft Projects experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hiring Salary Range: $74,600 - $104,160 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
- The preferred location for this role is our Westminster, CO campus; but we will consider a REMOTE candidate in the U.S, dependent on experience, qualifications and willingness to engage in regular travel to Colorado.
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: If based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel (20-30%) and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations will be required.
