Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Regional Operations Director oversees multiple plants in an assigned region and manages operational processes from start to finish. They will work with the plant leadership teams within their assigned region, as well as teams of central support functions such as Finance, Integrated Business Planning, Sourcing and Human Resources to ensure plants meet Beverage Packaging North and Central America’s overall plans.


What will you be responsible for?

  • Responsible for the overall safety performance across assigned plants in the region by ensuring plant focus on programs, procedures, and KPI’s in accordance with Ball safety programs.
  • Directs the performance of regional operations across assigned plants for the manufacture of the division’s products in accordance with process and product specifications and quality standards, complying with contractual and/or customer requirements and meeting financial objectives.
  • Provide leadership, support and counsel to regional plant leadership teams.
  • Directs the performance of plant operations within region and coordinates all activities with central support functions, including finance, Lean Six Sigma, quality, commercial, integrated business planning, engineering, sourcing, human resources, health/safety, and technical services.
  • Prepares, manages and supports the regional and individual plant budget and operating plans and supports the achievement of plant-level KPI’s in areas of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Ensure support and commitment within plant network to the Ball’s Integrated Management System, as well as the associated Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, and Health & Safety Systems.  (ISO 9001, 14001, 22001, 45001)
  • Evaluate and implement best practices across the region. 
  • Ensure best practices, technology, and continuously-improved processes are successfully implemented and embraced across plants within region.
  • Support regional continuous improvement projects and planning activities; analyzing data from the plants to identify areas of focus for the Lean Six Sigma resources and guiding those projects; tracking projects for effectiveness.
  • Supports positive employee relations across each plant location, including with the local/national union leadership, if applicable.
  • May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas.
  • Orchestrate activities, assignments and projects to maintain optimal level of customer service for both internal and external customers.

What are we looking for?

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
  • 10 years of job related experience with 7 years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • Demonstrated successful experience using Lean Six Sigma principles in manufacturing
  • Highly Matrixed/High Growth Organization Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High speed manufacturing/packaging preferred
  • Start-up/greenfield experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain (MBA-Preferred)


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $170,000-$230,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
