Primary Purpose of this Position:
As a People and Category Leader, you'll direct and manage spend categories worth $200M to $1B. Your team includes Category/Supply Manager, Buyers, and Analysts, implementing Ball Way of Procurement strategy and ensuring the supply. Activities will include sourcing strategy, negotiations, and implementation of suppliers.
What will you be responsible for?
- Provides direction and management support for a Procurement Management team, including setting goals and ensuring that the team is working toward achievement of those goals.
- Leads the full Ball way of Procurement lifecycle process for at least one large, category including gathering, analyzing, and reporting on key market intelligence, developing a long-term, multi-year category strategy and development and evaluation of “go to market” strategies and supports the efforts of the team members with their categories.
- Leverages multiple sources of market intelligence and data to make data-informed decisions.
- Develops a comprehensive view of the balance between supply and demand and actively monitors market conditions for the team’s categories on an ongoing basis in order to make informed decisions.
- Has responsibility for the development and evaluation of “go to market” strategies for categories and can achieve creative commercial outcomes through negotiation planning and successful execution by directing cross functional teams of stakeholders.
- Able to work across business units and engage with Regional Stakeholder teams and leadership to facilitate positive outcomes for the organization.
- Leads the performance management process for at least one global supplier, including regular business reviews and supports the efforts of the team members with their suppliers.
- Proactively reports progress against sourcing goals for the specified period.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting (equivalent and extensive work experience may be substituted). Minimum of 12 years’ experience in progressively increasing responsibility in Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management Consulting, or business-related operations in a global environment.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in specific category(ies) is required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing globally dispersed teams
Leadership:
- Strong people leadership skills and a demonstrated strength and ability to organize and lead dynamic and cohesive teams.
- Strategic orientation, inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and self-motivated to identify trends and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives and strategic plans.
- The ability to build effective relationships, influence peers and key stakeholders, and built consensus.
Category Management:
- A deep understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management principles and application.
- Advanced financial analytical skills and experience in enhancing value through negotiations.
Knowledge of:
Current principles, practices, and methods pertaining to procurement analytics and market research methods advanced negotiation tactic.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This role is based in Westminster, CO and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for four (4) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
- Hiring Salary Range: $123,000 - 180,020 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
- This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
