Primary Purpose of this Position: 

This Director role will lead enterprise 'where to play', play-to-win strategy & standard development; conducts market analysis, global competitor profiles & business cases. 

 

What will you be responsible for? 

  • The priority accountability of the Strategy lead is to develop and accelerate growth by setting ambitious and pragmatic detail level strategies, as well as supporting the Regions and Growth Ventures teams in executing and achieving our ambition.

  • Provides meaningful analysis and input as a single view of where and how we are going to better prioritize resources/capital to the benefit of our market and financial objectives.

  • Establish the discipline and definition around the Enterprise ‘where to play’ and 'how to win'. Develop the standard for Ball regarding the Play To Win strategy process and how to deploy across the globe, regions, businesses and customers.  

  • Complete detailed market analysis of segments, and categories, as well as a complete set of evergreen global competitor profiles. Develop thoughtful, detailed business cases in support of strategies.  

  • CROSS-BUSINESS OWNERSHIP - Work in conjunction with the Cross-Ops strategy role to focus on 2-5 year business / footprint optimization efforts. - Front-end of the critical innovation development process. And working with the regional S&M leads to fill the innovation ideation funnel.

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field with a preference towards a Advanced degree (MBA or higher) 

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in marketing or related 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and managing teams 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Strategic Planning 

  • Presenting, communicating and conveying complex information; requires ability to summarize and tailor communication to appropriate organizational levels 

  • Developing business cases with strong data and fact; can influence senior leadership on long-term priorities and planning 

  • Enterprise business strategy development, market analysis, competitive analysis, and identifying growth opportunities 

  • Evaluating market trends, analyzing data, measuring marketing performance, and making data-driven decisions 

  • Managing teams, collaborating cross-functionally and guiding the execution of planning 

  • Set the tone and narrative for the leadership engagements with the BOD. Complete preparation for the BoD and other senior level stakeholder engagements. 

  • Marketing Strategy & Market Analysis 

  • Play-To-Win strategy development or similar strategic planning frameworks 

  • Data Analysis to drive business outcomes and results 

  • Strategic Planning across complex matrix companies 

  • Generating creative ideas, testing new approaches, and staying ahead of industry trends 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

 

  • This role is eligible for relocation assistance.
  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for four (4) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).  Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $142,400 – $242,400 USD. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. 
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
