Primary Purpose of this Position:  

The Director, Regional Manufacturing will oversee 5-8 regional plants, ensuring safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and productivity. Drive continuous improvement, align processes with global standards, and uphold compliance policies to achieve organizational goals. 

 

What will you be responsible for? 

 

Operational Leadership and Excellence 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of manufacturing plants to ensure safety, quality, cost and efficiency. Standards are consistently met.
  • Develop and execute Financial Budget cycles (AOP and FORECAST). 
  • Direct plant operations within the region, coordinating with central support functions (Manufacturing Excellence, Quality, Risk, Supply Chain Execution, etc).
  • Implement systems for monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with global standards.
  • Fully implement the Ball Operational Excellence program driving day-to-day routines, processes and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence and meet production targets, leveraging global Operational Excellence team resources as needed.

 

Strategic Alignment and Execution 

  • Contribute to and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives and business strategic cycles (3 Year Plan, Regional Strategy Meeting, Pre-Budget, Budget)
  • Collaborate on manufacturing strategies aligned with overall business objectives, optimizing production schedules, workflows, innovation and resource allocation.
  • Lead a culture of accountability and ownership in the plants.

 

Resource Management and Skill Enhancement  

  • Effectively manage and allocate resources, including staffing and materials, to meet production goals.
  • Optimize production schedules and workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Leverage global training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of plant manufacturing
  • teams.

 

Quality Assurance and Issue Resolution 

  • Implement and monitor adherence to global quality management systems and standards.
  • Work closely with plant managers and collaborate with global quality assurance team to promptly address and resolve any production-related quality issues.

 

Risk (Health, Safety and Environmental) Compliance 

  • Implement and monitor global safety protocols and practices to ensure the well-being of employees., leveraging Global Risk Team resource as needed.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with local, regional, and global environmental regulations, aligning plant activities with organizational objectives.

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing roles within the industrial sector.
  • Cost Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in implementing cost-effective manufacturing practices and driving continuous improvement in operational costs.
  • Management System Expertise: Lean manufacturing/enterprise, agile methodology, open mindset, continuous improvement process.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large manufacturing teams through change management, driving operational excellence and achieving production targets. 
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills are critical for collaborating with diverse teams, managing relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of operational strategies.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Aluminum packaging manufacturing industry (highly desired)
    • High Speed Manufacturing industry (required)

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Relocation to our Westminster, CO headquarters is highly preferred. Relocation assistance is available.  
  • Hiring Salary Range: $ 142,400 - 222,400 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
