Primary Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for performing general legal advice and assistance for all matters within Ball Corporation, as directed by the assistant general counsel and general counsel.  Areas of primary focus for the role will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on corporate governance, including ESG developments, securities compliance and reports (10-K’s, 10Q’s, 8-K’s and proxy statements), executive compensation and reporting, and developing and maintaining polices and procedures to ensure compliance with SEC requirements applicable to publicly traded companies.

 

What will you be responsible for? 

  • Responds to requests for legal assistance or analysis from employees throughout the company in a timely fashion.
  • Prepares and reviews legal correspondence, forms and agreements.
  • Hires, supervises and assists outside attorneys in litigation and other matters.  An effective project manager and lawyer.
  • Assists internal clients or customers in their efforts to generate Economic Value Added for Ball Corporation.
  • Provides professional, confidential work product in a timely fashion.
  • Takes personal responsibility for quality and timeliness and endeavors to continuously improve services and relationships within Ball.
  • Maintains highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior and individual responsibility to clients or customers.
  • Assists Ball in maintaining compliance with the law.

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through college level education or work related experience.  B.S. or B.A. degree and L.L.B. or J.D. degree from an accredited university.
  • Admission to Colorado State Bar (by examination or motion or pursuant to C.R.C.P. Rule 203.2).
  • Job related experience in the field of securities/corporate law for 2 to 3 years or equivalent work related experience.
  • Must have worked in a law firm or in a law department representing a publicly traded company.
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of law in broad areas of assignments.
  • Working knowledge of the following areas:
    • Must have prepared complex legal documents and persuasive legal documents.
    • Some securities and executive compensation law experience an asset. 

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $87,800 - $133,975 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Other Compensation: This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
