Position Overview

In this role, you will support research and development activities by conducting product evaluations, performing laboratory testing, analyzing quality data, and collaborating with engineering teams to develop innovative packaging solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for both early-career engineers and quality focused technicians looking to build technical expertise while working alongside experienced professionals in a highly collaborative and global environment.

 

Your Key Areas of Responsibility Include

  • Conduct inspections and testing of in-process materials and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications.
  • Support engineers by providing laboratory data, test results, and technical recommendations to drive product development and quality improvements.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable operations.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including project records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), equipment calibrations, and quality records.
  • Perform data analysis, participate in gauge R&R studies, and assist with interpretation of statistical results to support quality and innovation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to evaluate new concepts, solve technical challenges, and improve aluminum packaging products.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas that enhance product performance, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Lead or support small-scale projects, provide project updates, and effectively communicate progress to key stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and business teams worldwide.

 

Required Experience and Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering / related technical field or work-related experience of 3 years minimum.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience with a degree, or relevant experience in a quality or quality-related environment.
  • Experience within aluminum beverage packaging, manufacturing, or quality systems is preferred.
  • Exposure to high-speed manufacturing, metal forming, or laboratory environments is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to execute test plans and perform root cause analysis.
  • Experience using handheld metrology and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, dimensioning, and basic machine operations.
  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply statistical methods to support technical decisions.

  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 5–10% travel.
  • This role supports the Global Innovation organization and offers the opportunity to work alongside international engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • The position provides exposure to cutting-edge product development initiatives focused on advancing aluminum beverage packaging solutions.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Expected Hiring Salary Range:  $66,700 - $93,160   (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)  
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
