Position overview:
This role ensures effective financial and systems administration of materials, supporting internal stakeholders through accurate stock control, efficient purchasing processes, and reliable materials availability for production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform routine stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage metal supply to ensure consistent production reliability.
- Maintain accurate master data and stock records within SAP.
- Operate and monitor MRP processes, including order placement and associated administration.
- Oversee goods receipting and support resolution of supplier invoice issues.
- Lead and own inventory cycle counts for supplies and spare parts.
- Create and maintain supplier and material records within the procurement system.
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage PPE requirements, including cost control and escalation where necessary.
- Maintain compliance with import/export legislation, particularly post-Brexit requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of internal procurement and engineering processes, supporting other areas where required.
- Provide cover for the Site Procurement Lead as required and act as a potential future successor.
- Act as leader of 5S initiatives in designated areas.
What are we looking for?
- Strong computer literacy and experience using SAP (preferred).
- Valid FLT license, especially for movement of chemicals (preferred).
- Experience with Lean methodologies, tools and Kaizen (preferred)
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Financially astute with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and time management capabilities.
- Customer-focused with commitment to service excellence.
Total annual salary: £33000
