4 on 4 off days but flexibility required to work nights and weekends to cover holidays, sickness etc... when required


Primary purpose of the position


       Performs tasks and provides services to support the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed.


Essential Responsible Areas


Able to Install, maintain and fault find on high-speed, industrial process equipment for can making, power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment.


      Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs all electrical equipment, components, transducers, complex timing and inspection devices.


      Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.


      Identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through supervisor to resolve.


       Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls.


       Ensures efficient equipment operation through line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.


I      Installs and troubleshoots facility power distribution and lighting services.


       Must display competent ability to wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems in a neat and professional manner and conform to Ball wiring specifications.


       Can interpret and update wiring schematics and computer program printouts.


       Supplies and maintains required hand tools.


        Maintains daily log books and records.


        Performs clean-up and housekeeping duties.


        Communicates pertinent information to the next shift. 


        Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs, JBSs) for area of responsibility.


         Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group and the company.


Professional & Education Qualification


Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education or equivalent (apprenticeship program).


Job-related experience for 3 years minimum.




Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, substantial adaptation and modification of standard electrical/electronic techniques, procedures, and criteria.


Must possess a thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.


Ability to effectively instruct and train personnel.


Ability to use basic hand and power tools.


Ability to use electronic test equipment.


Possesses an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics,

and electrical.


Ability to operate and functionally use a computer




Working knowledge of the following areas:


nomenclature of all assigned equipment; solid state circuitry,ectronics, electrical-mechanical devices, transmission systems  interface units, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers and inspection and digital devices.


Plc programming/networking interrogation and modifications (AB Rockwell preferred but not essential)
