Position overview:
As the Chemical Process Maintainer, you’re a key member of the Wakefield Team. You will contribute to the success of Ball by performing tasks and proving services to support the plant's production goals and overall business plans.
The Shift Pattern is 4 on - 4 off, 39 hours per week. Every cycle includes 7 rotations 4 on – 4 off followed by 18 days off ( fixed vacation days included ). This shift pattern covers also 1 training day, 2 maintenance days, and 1 crew day.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Complies with and practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
• Take ownership for the Washers process equipment.
• Keep chemical process under control.
• Ensure can cleaning and coating by washer chemicals.
• Ensure metal coating solutions are compatible with operation conditions and machinery can operate in optimum performance.
• Perform chemical control in the washer and in case of any deviation perform defect remover activities.
• Provide compatibility of coolant water and cupper lubricant in front-end section.
• Realize quality can production by performing chemical control.
• Ensure can flow along the line by isolating mechanical defects.
• Perform chemical inspection tests and quality control in CPO area.
• Perform daily protective maintenance of washer, waste water and Schneider systems.
• Conducts inspection of in-process or finished products to ensure quality targets are achieved.
• Takes care of the work area and equipment to create a safe and efficient work environment.
• Assists with equipment maintenance by performing routine checks and lubrication.
• Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from company IT systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance on production and support equipment as required.
• Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, and parts required for assigned area.
• Initiate, review, and follows all standard operating procedures for area of responsibility
• Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department
Experience and skills required
• Job-related experience for 2 years minimum in the manufacturing environment.
• Chemical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience of preventative and planned maintenance.
• The ability to assist with breakdowns and line conversions.
• Sound communication skills, ability to clearly explain processes.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
Annual Salary, Starter rate, £47,615.27, Improver rate, £50,262.85 and fully trained rate £52,907.00
