Main purpose of function:

    Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Conducts all of his/her work with communication and coordination involving appropriate engineering and plant organizations 
  • Prepares bid packages/RFQ’s, evaluates and educates potential suppliers/contractors and evaluates bids for equipment, systems, and construction work
  • Suggests improvements to electrical equipment, systems, and processes for the purpose of increased production, reduced cost, or improved maintainability
  • Assists in preparing designs, PLC programs, bills of materials, spare parts lists, and specifications and overseeing the preparation of drawings for the installation or modification of control systems, power distribution, and lighting
  • Works with outside consulting firms and vendors used in the design of control, power distribution, and support and service systems. Responsible for the review of vendor and other outside engineering drawings and documents for suitability and compliance with project requirements
  • Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals
  • Required weekend on-call rotation once every 5 weeks
  • Maintains the professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
  • Assists in managing the scope, cost, and schedule of the electrical portions of projects
  • Maintains a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines and of the mechanical functions of equipment used in the plants

What You’ll Need:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Engineering Management role
  • Experience with Allen Bradley hardware. PLCs, HMI, and VFDs
  • Experience with Allen Bradley software’s, such as Studio5000, FactoryTalk view, RSlinx
  • Experienced in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience with low power electronics design and analysis
  • Experience in signal and power integrity analysis
  • Networking communication skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and document design and test data
  • Computer literate, SAP (desirable), MS Products (essential)
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing (desirable)

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $86,850.00- $132,100.00 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • Job Grade:  12
  • Other Compensation:   This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
