Purpose of the position:
The role has strategic and tactical responsibilities to engage, facilitate and guide the Division and Plant Leadership Teams in designing a Lean & CI approach that encourages and develops an improvement culture throughout all business processes, at all employee levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translate BAP overall business vision into a strategic Lean and CI approach to support the business, including all levers to develop the adequate culture (communications aspects, training, projects management…).
- Identify and prioritise targeted areas of opportunity across the corporation through execution of multiple waste reduction projects.
- Develop Lean further into operations through training and education in the general Lean tools, Shingo & Zero Loss (business name for TPM) and to manage major Sector impacting improvement projects.
- Manage and lead savings within the Region, improving the performance of Manufacturing and non-manufacturing KPIs. Ensure that the correct evaluation of the Economic Value Added (EVA) generation is performed into projects.
- Facilitate value stream mapping, business process re-design, kaizen, continuous improve-ment, lean thinking, cycle time reduction, etc. to simplify and perfect targeted areas.
- Prioritize the action plan and guide Project Teams with the consistent Lean approach and methodology: interact with all CoE leaders to align on the most important projects and support them to deploy the adequate methodology.
- Work closely with the project sponsors, with the local Lean&CI leaders to adjust the relevant resources and capex.
- Organize LSS training to increase CI competencies across the Division and leadership of kaizen events, across all levels of the organization.
- Motivate and engage direct cross-functional teams to desired results through skilful appli-cation of the LSS methodology.
- Ensure to maintain detailed records of all CI projects. Effectively communicate activities and progress of all projects to all levels of plant employees.
- Lead Excellence in Performance (EIP) and similar Lean activities to assist Manufacturing sites in achieving their KPIs.
- Run high impact/high return projects in Manufacturing and non-manufacturing disciplines that may have Region wide potential.
- Work closely with Business Leaders to ensure identification and alignment of projects so the EVA program is maintained at all times.
- Support critical Safety and Quality initiatives in line with the Manufacturing Strategy.
Facilitate knowledge sharing by initiating best practice sharing and benchmarking by liais-ing with the CI Leaders.
Knowledge and experience required:
- Technical qualification to degree level or relevant experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience of operating in a Manufacturing environment
- Lean and CI methodologies
- Financial awareness with basic P+L experience
- Excellent understanding of CI concepts, including Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, Project Management and Problem-Solving concepts
- Previous experience with multiple significant sized projects across multiple geographies
- Can manage, develop, train, coach and interact with with people from different cultures and at all level of organization
- Excellent computer literacy skills, specifically Excel and power points skills
- Fluent in English, other European language desirable
