Position overview:

You will lead a team focused on optimizing existing plant processes and technology, implementing best-in-class, industry-leading practices. Your role is to drive operational excellence through Ball’s Operational Excellence pillars.  This includes streamlining processes, enhancing efficiency, and reducing costs across all plants. You will ensure consistent application of global standards, aligning all regional plants with industry best practices. Additionally, you will maintain strict financial control, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines, minimizing deviations, and promoting the responsible use of resources.

This position can be based out anywhere in EMEA.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a culture of team accountability, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Implementation,  execution and auditing of Ball Operational Excellence Pillars for all PHC plants.
  • Own KPI performance, overall performance tracking, reporting and follow-up.
  • Train plant teams accordingly executing training program aligned with global training strategy
  • Defining and governing global process and maintenance standards (BOE, equipment and best practices) for cans, bottles, and slugs.
  • Acting as the escalation point for complex technical issues and coordinating advanced problem solving with internal experts and external partners.
  • Driving continuous improvement and process innovation, including step-change performance initiatives and capital investment opportunities.
  • Leading the technical strategy and execution of strategic engineering and CapEx projects, including technical specifications and global optimization.
  • Ensuring alignment with quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance across the network.
  • Managing supplier relationships for equipment, tooling, and spare parts, ensuring standardization and performance.
  • Leading capacity and asset optimization, including SIOP alignment, utilization, speed, and throughput improvement.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for spoilage reduction, performance analysis, and root cause elimination.
  • Driving global data management, performance visibility, and analytics to support operational decision-making.
  • Leading PMO, industrialization, and change management activities to ensure successful implementation of new technologies, processes, and standards.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in process and productivity optimisation.
  • Mechanical Engineering education.
  • Proficiency in Lean principles and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and cross-cultural team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Excellent project management and budgetary control skills.
  • Effective communication and relationship management with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of Capital Project Development, Cost Estimation and Project Management.
  • Fluency in English.
