Primary purpose of the position:
The Technical Training Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the execution of the Technical Training Program across 4-5 plants within a designated region. Reporting to the Manager, Technical Training, the supervisor ensures the consistent application of training processes, supports onboarding activities, and leads the development of the Site Technical Training Specialists. This role plays a critical part in fostering technical proficiency across plants while aligning with global training standards and the Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) training pillar.
Essential Responsible Areas:
1. Execution of the Technical Training Program:
- Ensure the standardized execution of technical training programs across all assigned plants.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of training initiatives, ensuring alignment with global and regional goals.
2. Support Onboarding Activities:
- Collaborate with plant leadership to support and streamline the onboarding process for new employees.
- Ensure that new employees receive comprehensive technical training and are well integrated into their roles.
3. KPI Ownership and Reporting:
- Own the technical training Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all plants.
- Regularly report training metrics and outcomes to Plant Managers, Operations Directors, and the Manager of Technical Training.
- Analyze training data to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous progress.
4. Leadership and Development of Site Technical Training Specialists:
- Lead, mentor, and develop site-based technical training specialists to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging strong relationships between the training team and plant leadership.
5. Support BOE Training Pillar Implementation:
- Ensure that all technical training activities align with the Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) training pillar.
- Ensure the correct use of training software and systems (LMS, eDMS) to track and document training activities.
6. Collaboration with Plant Leaders:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with plant leaders to ensure effective coordination of training resources and activities.
- Act as a liaison between the technical training team and plant operations to align training with operational needs.
Position Requiremnt & Competencies:
Education
Minimum Bachelor's degree
Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years experience doing managing and executing technical training programs, preferably in a multi-plant or manufacturing environment. training across multiple facilities, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Skills & knowledge required
Demonstrated skill in Adult Learning and Development: In-depth knowledge of adult learning and development methodologies and instructional design of technical programs.
Demonstrated skill in Execution of Training Programs: In-depth knowledge of technical training program execution and managing consistency in training programs across a large region.
Demonstrated skill in Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Working knowledge of Training software systems (LMS, eDMS) and the ability to track and report KPIs.
Languages
Required Read/write and speak proficiently in English.
