Primary Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for establishing and implementing short and long-term plans and strategies to keep working the productive machinery, equipment and machines related with the aerosol can production. Complies with the production, spoilage, cost, procedures and projects related with the engineering areas


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for maintaining and safe and secure work environment. This includes corrective unsafe acts/conditions, performing weekly safety inspections and be involved in the investigating accident
  2. Support development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of quality system, including the procedures and records related with the engineering area and spare part room
  3. Directs and coordinates the activities of the plant engineering function in the plant and its interface with the group office
  4. Estimates and prepares budgets related with maintenance and AFE´s plant projects
  5. Responsible to define, tracking, supervising and control cost for AFE projects and accomplish with the deadline proposed
  6. Responsible to keep a future vision of the company to change, adapt, replace equipment and machinery that meet the customers and corporation expectations
  7. Support production team to assure the KPIs plant according to planning schedule
  8. Define and establish the annual preventive maintenance plan
  9. Conduct all the analysis and actions to attend and correct the corrective maintenance
  10. Directs constant communication with group engineering to ensure that any developments affecting plant engineering and quickly and accurately transmitted and any approved or standardized methods are established
  11. Establishes a program that will ensure control of M & R and spare parts inventories
  12. Establishes a detail maintenance plan to attend mechanical and electrical related with productive equipment
  13. Establish a program and supervising the M&R of peripheral equipment required by production department
  14. Establish a strong relation with suppliers and contractors to get the best relation price-quality
  15. Responsible to control and monitoring the use of spare part room, controlling the maximum and minimum establishes according the use of the machine
  16. Directs information to the plant manager, department heads, group manufacturing engineer and group engineering with appropriate reports in all areas
  17. May be responsible for administration of data / computer systems and telecommunications systems of the engineering team
  18. Responsible for supervising outside contractors
  19. Responsible for LOTO program development and implementation
  20. Responsible to define the training matrix for maintenance technicians and engineering team
  21. Tracks time and cost of projects for plant manager
  22. Establishes and maintains effective work relationship within the department, the division, the group and the Company
  23. Performs those administrative activities necessary for effective management, including provision for selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employees safety, employee counseling, motivation, meeting objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the organization
  24. Responsible to the analyses and define the corrective activities for breakdowns and lost time to impact the organization



  • Job related experience for 4 years
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: company policies, procedures and products, engineering principles, practices, nomenclature and procedures generally accepted managerial practices and procedures, business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations
  • Ability to apply intensive and diversifies evaluation selection and substantial adaption and modification or standard plat production techniques procedures an criteria
  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner
  • Must follow company policies, procedures, practices and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals
  • Ability to negotiate with contractors for facilities/buildings maintenance
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to meet deadlines and concentrate and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data in order to make recommendations
  • Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity knowledge and skills
