Primary Purpose of this Position:

The role forms part of the “production group” senior management team.  A “production group” is a collection of multiple plants (4+) geographically located that sit under one span of leadership – sometimes referred to as a sub-region.  This role will contribute by delivering highly effective business partnership to our production group senior management team and will also contribute towards the development and implementation of strategy.  In doing so this role will drive financial value in our operating costs being our future fuel for growth.  
 
What will you be responsible for?
 
    • Acts as a trusted business partner to the “production group” senior management team and all associated manufacturing plant leadership teams within to support decision making and driving financial value in the form of EVA performance improvement;
    • Responsible for Plant Finance Sr Analysts activities, who oversee two plants within the production group, and personal development in regionally assigned plants;  
    • Ensures timely and accurate adherence to all critical plant based routines and deadlines including AOP, reforecasting, month end analysis, AFE process and “in month” processes 
    • Analyse and oversee the “production group” consolidation view of the month end financial close results and communicate results to the :production group” senior management teams (via standardized Ball Operational Excellence routines) and to the regional finance teams effectively, accurately and timely in standardized formats.  NOTE: This role is NOT responsible for the accounting close of the financial books or associated journals / transactions, which are performed in a separate accounting / global business services (GBS) function.  Partnership and collaboration with this function will be critical. 
    • Manages the development cross functionally of the “production group” spending forecasts for annual operating plan cycle (AOP) efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats;
    • Manages the local refresh cross functionally of the “production group” spending forecasts for the quarterly refresh of the annual operating plan cycle (3+9, 6+6 & 9+3) efficiently, accurately and timely in standardized formats;
    • Support finance led regional, manufacturing plant based or otherwise initiatives to drive EVA performance improvement and standardization of processes;
    • Assist with the analysis of regional financial results to identify and track cost reduction initiatives.  Collaborate with other Production Group Finance Supervisors (globally) to leads to improve financial and operational performance; 
    • Manages the development of standard global operating procedures and work instructions for the plant finance function;  
    • Support non finance teams education within the “production group” to build strong finance and business acumen around the key principles of how the business run, how we make money and how they can impact EVA each and every day;
    • Provides back-up coverage for other Plant Finance Supervisors at their “production group” manufacturing plants and support the Manager of Manufacturing Finance as needed. 
 
NOTE: This role is NOT responsible for participating and coordinating physical inventories and reconciliation at manufacturing plant and associated local warehouses with their “production group” of sites (finished goods, spare parts, materials or assets).  These are supported by the appropriate local functional teams locally under the supervision of a separate accounting / global business services (GBS) function.  Partnership and collaboration in suitable education around what “good looks like” locally at the “production group / plant from a controllership perspective will be required as part of the “educational” responsibilities of the role 
 
What are we looking for?

    • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree (Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred but not limited to)
    • Proven strong work-related and leadership experience
    • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills 
    • Systems literate including strong Excel capability 
    • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize 
    • Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard finance techniques, procedures, and criteria
   • Working knowledge of finance and forecasting principles, general business principles, legal and accounting practices, Economic Value Added (EVA), manufacturing standard costing, financial modelling and generally accepted managerial practices and procedures 
    • Specific systems experienced preferred within Microsoft suite of applications, ERP systems (SAP, JDE, etc) and Hyperion Essbase (or equivalents) 
    • Working Manufacturing experience preferred 
    • Language Required: English
