Specialist, Manufacturing Excellence (SA)

Primary Purpose of this Position: 

The role has considerable scope to make a difference at Ball by bringing improvements in business systems, processes and analytics. The output from this role underpins key decision making in priority Operational initiatives and will be the focal point for BOE execution reporting. 

What will you be responsible for? 

• BOE Execution: 
  • Maintain and update BOE assessment progress at a Regional level (NCA/SA/EMEA)
  • Work with the plants to implement BOE Business Management elements
  • Deploy BOE at the region
  • Deep contact with Global team for BOE elements alignment
  • Maintain and update results dashboard with latest data to a monthly cycle 
  • Work with Plants to improve data integrity and reporting accuracy 
  • Analyze data to define opportunities from historical trends 
  • Create benchmarking reports for better practice sharing 
  • Accurately share outputs with wider business  
• Manufacturing Excellence Team support: 
  • Assist Manufacturing Excellence team, on an ad-hoc basis as required
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for improvement in the plants
  • Critical project support 
  • Data analysis by cost category 

What are we looking for? 

• Experience working with Continuous Improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma) and with complex data analysis in a FMCG business 
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Logistics/Engineering/Operations or related discipline - preferred
• Data: structuring, manipulating, managing, integrating, analyzing and presenting data; data analytics with the confidence to challenge and enhance systems and processes 
• Computer: computer literacy including excel, PowerPoint, access 
• Deadlines: working remotely to tight deadlines 
• Communication: Confident and collaborative communicator with good influencing skills 
• Knowledge of: 
  • Lean Tools / Six Sigma
  • MRP/ERP system & processes 
  • Financial statements 
  • Navigating stakeholders in a matrix organisation
• Languages:
  • Advanced/Fluent English (Required)
