Position Overview:


As the Preventative Maintenance Senior Engineer, you’re a key member of the Maintenance Engineering team for Global Beverage Packaging, reporting to the Global Manager, Equipment & Maintenance Operational Excellence.   You will contribute to the success of Ball by helping establish reliability focused maintenance practices at a global level.  


Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop, optimize, improve the Maintenance Pillar of Ball Operational Excellence (BOE). Help to drive a standardized preventative maintenance program across multiple regions.
     Audit the performance of the preventative maintenance programs (Ball Operational Excellence [BOE])/ initiatives for the production plants in the assigned region.  
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work with regional maintenance teams, region and global SMEs to improve equipment reliability, implement new ideas or technologies.
  • Equipment Reliability and Performance: Analyze equipment data in conjunction with failures to improve performance of production assets, enhance uptime, extend asset life; and improve maintenance KPI’s. 
    Support the Global Engineering Group in the pursuit and adoption of best-in-class performance of production plant assets.
  • Culture Connection: Help to promote a culture of safety, environment, health, quality and maintenance in the workplace. Encourage adherence to standards and practices of excellence, and help to drive cross-functional teamwork.
  • Training:  Support stakeholders on the most appropriate methods and decisions related to preventative maintenance of plant assets.
    Support the information technology teams in collecting and analyzing preventative maintenance data to ensure accurate and on time CMMS reporting.  Collaborate with operational teams to identify new preventative maintenance and conditional monitoring technologies.
  • Cost Optimization and Budgeting Improvements: Help to improve and identify maintenance and repair (M&R) best practices and optimization efforts. Help to optimize schedules, reduce unplanned downtime and improve spare part management.

 

Required Education, Skills and Knowledge: 

 

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field.  
  • Advanced or Fluent English 
  • Maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing;  including experience in packaging manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability, skills and experience:
    • Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (such as: JDE, SAP, Shop Floor Online etc.)
    • Mechanical expertise: machinery maintenance, mechanical systems, and reliability engineering.
    • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
    • Data-Driven: Utilizing data to drive decision making; Analytical ability to identify improvement opportunities and solve complex problems.
    • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing  or continuous improvement methodologies.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

 

  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience.
  • Reliability and Maintenance Engineering experience with a solid understanding of failure modes and lifecycle management.
