Plant Human Resources Leader (Contract Work Opportunity)

These positions may begin as positions payrolled through Manpower on behalf of Ball, but are expected to transition with the new entity either at start or soon thereafter as a part of this groundbreaking initiative.
Purpose:
This contract role will provide HR leadership for a dynamic business, with day-to-day HR support for the operations and office team.
Duties:
1. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
2. Performs recruiting, advises on selection, and responsible for onboarding of new employees for plant and office roles.
3. Administers wage, salary, and benefit programs for all business employees, including plant and office roles in accordance with policies and regulations.
4. Oversees all investigations and employee relations matters, including harassment, discrimination, Workers Compensation, and any other HR-related topics.
5. Provides HR guidance and solutions to all leaders and employees.
6. Maintains and administers all HR-related paperwork, including new hire, compliance, and required documentation; ensures compliance and accurate data.
7. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the plant, leadership, employees and the overall company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
8. Processes payroll for business and ensures accurate and timely pay for all employees; oversees time off accrual programs.
9. Originates and maintains required personnel files and records on a current basis.
10. Originates, develops, maintains, and updates HR policies for the business.
11. Presents information to leaders and employees, as necessary; organizes team activities occasionally.
12. May maintain OSHA 300 log and grievance log activity.
Education/Experience Required:
• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
• Job related experience for 2 year(s) minimum
Required skills and experiences:
• Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant human resources techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
• Working knowledge of the following areas: employee relations, H.R. management, industrial relations, business practices, H.R. legal practices, Labor Relations (if applicable) and generally accepted managerial practices and procedures.
• Ability to use a computer and productivity software, such as Office.
• Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset and resiliency.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in high growth and startup environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Contract Hourly Rate Range: $35.00 - 48.00 per hour (to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data.)
- This role is not considered an employee of Ball and therefore is not benefit eligible.
