Position overview:
The Senior Global Key Account Manager drives volume, price and value across the full customer portfolio for specific Global customer/s, and develops new sales opportunities in order to grow sales revenues and contribute to margin and profitability increase. This is a critical position responsible for 25% of the business of the region and handling extra complexity given the global set up of one of the key clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develops a deep understanding of customers' business in Europe, markets, brands' portfolio and strategy, needs and expectations and Ball's competitive position.
- Achieves or exceeds sales targets in Europe, as per identified sales strategy and budget directives
- Owns day-to-day business management (forecast, orders, payments etc) and customer relationship. Ensures quick resolution of issues to improve effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Escalates as needed.
- Supports Director GKA in the development of the global strategy and the development and execution of the joint business plans.
- Owns forecasting and reporting. Provides guidance to production planning through analysis of forecast data for her/his accounts. Communicates variances to plan (assumptions, pricing, volumes) and shifts in strategy appropriately, in alignment with the Director GKA
- Coordinates and communicates with various departments, included but not limited to Sales, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customer Service, etc. in order to support customer first objectives. Gather & communicate market intelligence.
- Detects opportunities and promotes Ball's capabilities to grow the business through innovation, sustainability, expanded portfolio
- Supports pricing strategy. Identifies opportunities to improve margin.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in key account management, with 3 years’ experience in the Packaging industry
- Demonstrated skill in sales and day-to-day negotiation
- Experience of account planning and complexity management
- Customer focus, influencing, problem solving, conflict management and analytical skills.
- Successfully developing customer relationships (interpersonal and communication skills)
- Teamwork, abiity to prioritise and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of industry and products
- Fluent in both written and spoken English, German highly desirable
