Primary Purpose of this Position:  

Manages the sales function as directed for Mexico. Works on assigned accounts taking care of the day-to-day business and is the primary contact for all Regional customers at Ball in Mexico, with responsibilities for select global accounts operating in Mexico. Responsible for delivering regional AOP, negotiation and execution of customer short and long term contracts to deliver mutual growth.  

Responsible for identifying and partnering to active new business opportunities and sustainability actions to be taken in the region, and working with relevant partners to execute.   

 

What will you be responsible for? 

  • Manage the day to day operation for the Regional & Business Development accounts in Mexico.
  • Follow sales metric/objective and assure order fulfilment, through our Ball Network
  • Work with both: the customer and internal stakeholders to strategically grow the business
  • Support new projects implementation such as: Customer portal, Tariffs, taxes, invoicing systems, etc.
  • Follows and assure customers’ forecasts are accurate and reflect the current business market, shares responsibility for forecast accuracy on customer’s requirements. Manages customer forecast to campaigns for relevant items.
  • Anticipates challenges, e.g. shortages, downtime, as well as opportunities, e.g. new sizes, configuration, product, and proactively manages internal resources to resolution/opportunity capture.
  • Addresses logistics issues that are elevated to commercial disputes.
  • Participates in setting account strategy; supports and coordinates execution of initiatives led by functional experts; identifies and pitches opportunities for value growth (new business) and initiatives (current business).
  • Negotiates settlement of large claims, e.g. quality, obsolete inventory, other, as needed.
  • Monitors and identifies risks; inventory key indicators for accounts. Obsolete inventory, point of escalation from supply chain regarding disputes.
  • Actively participate in run/production qualifications at both Customer and Ball Plants
  • Support critical projects implementation in Ball Plants and Customer locations
  • Support to coordinate the new graphics process within Ball and the customer. Align customer into Ball procedures
  • Closely works with customers on their planning process to secure alignment and anticipate issues.
  • Monitors account receivables and takes action to correct deviations from payment terms.
  • Sets short term objectives (yearly) for the managed accounts and execute based on those.
  • Main contact between the company and the customer and between the customer and the plants.
  • Clearly articulates and communicates customer needs and requirements to all internal stakeholders to secure aligned short term planning and projects.
  • Secures customer’s adherence to Ball’s policies. Aligns objectives between the company and customer.
  • Secures smooth operations at the customer’s plants and other facilities.
  • Manages customer contract negotiations by initiating corresponding processes as bids or direct negotiation, leads approaches for playbooks and coordinated work with contract & price
  • Accountable for volume, mix, revenue, customer contract adherence of Regional Accounts &  Business Development.
  • Development of Commercial strategy and understanding competitive intelligence related to the Mexican market.    

 

What are we looking for? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Marketing, Engineering, etc.)
  • Master Degree (MBA or similar) preferred
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, Highly preferred to be working or had work in the Aluminum Can Industry.

  • Engineering / manufacturing background (preferred)
  • English/ Spanish Proficiency
