Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for leading efforts to analyze and define detailed specifications for business systems which map to business processes.  Performs as an expert at driving solution delivery by facilitating requirements analysis and design activities with the business to accurately determine future system requirements.  Ensures solutions are in alignment with the enterprise architecture blueprint, the solutions architecture and ensures that systems and application designs adhere to standards and policies.  Ensures that all information technology investments are clearly aligned with the priorities of the business. Responsible for team guidance and delivery of complex, technical solutions to business needs


Essential Functions 

  1. Leads efforts to elicit future systems requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis to analyze, design and implementation business solutions for complex business problems.
  2. Partner with business analysts and respective cross-functional business groups (e.g. Finance, HR, IT, etc...) to elicit functional and non-functional requirements
  3. Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs).
  4. Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative business solutions that challenges the business on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  5. Participate in defining the integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software and hardware.
  6. Ensures that systems and application designs adhere to standards and reflect the architecture appropriately.
  7. Collaborates with other divisions IT leads as well as other stakeholders to align solution in support of the business’ tactical and strategic plans.  Aligns IT goals with business needs.
  8. Researches emerging technologies and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, improve flexibility or better support business requirements.
  9. Work closely with third-party vendors including software providers, implementation partners, and consultants
  10. Understand existing and anticipated application functionality, including cloud-based offerings, that meet business demand.
  11. Assist the team with user acceptance testing requirements for existing and new application systems and modules
  12. Partner with key strategic solutions partners for small and large scale engagements to help develop the vision of the technology service
  13. Manage the configuration, setup, and maintenance of application-related solutions
  14. Mentors other analysts on the team by providing guidance and hands-on solving of complex problems. 


Position Requirements:

  • 5 plus years of experience in JD Edwards Sales Order Process through End of Day
  • 1-2 JDE full cycle implementations, desired
  • 2 plus years of experience with JDE Job Scheduler and/or External Job Scheduling tools.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sales Order configuration and support within a multi-national organization
  • Bachelor’s degree required - Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Integration with external tools and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems are desired.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and expertise in field; strong development skills in relevant technology.
  • Business process knowledge preferred (e.g., Plan-to-Produce process, manufacturing execution systems)
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Expertise in various software development methodologies and applicability, e.g., XP, iterative.  Expertise in entire software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Business process knowledge preferred (e.g., Plan-to-Produce process, manufacturing execution systems)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Appropriately manages customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parameters
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects to drive business improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong estimation skills and techniques required.
  • Exceptional understanding of software quality principles including test methodologies.
  • Experience in driving process and technology re-engineering using industry practices e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, COBIT, ITIL, CMMi.
  • Proven project planning and management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn new things
