The Purchasing Officer collects and analyzes offers from suppliers, checks that the terms in the offers are competitive with market trends, and provides information about the best offer to superiors. This role will be responsible for qualifying and approving new suppliers in accordance with central and local procedures and requirements, audit existing suppliers, and evaluating them based on defined commercial criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure goods and services in accordance with contractual terms and departmental procedures, as directed by superiors
• Conducting commercial negotiations with suppliers and preparing and aligning contract documentation in collaboration with internal clients and external consultants
• Maintaining daily contact with foreign suppliers and ensure that the necessary commercial documentation complies with applicable legal regulations
• Preparing the required transportation documentation on time, accurately, and in line with applicable legal regulations 
• Creating purchase orders for goods and services in SAP and entering and updating data within their area of responsibility in SAP
• Communicating with local and foreign suppliers, monitoring, and ensuring that the stock levels of raw materials, semi-finished materials, spare parts, and consumables are at optimal levels and in line with defined production plans and production and maintenance goals
• Working on improving purchasing processes and warehouse operations and participating in the implementation and maintenance of Lean standards
• Organizing transportation for all incoming and outgoing goods except finished products (Cans & Ends), communicating daily with carriers and courier services, negotiating directly, and agree on commercial transport terms
• Providing suggestions for improving procurement processes and warehouse operations
• Assisting in the process of inspecting received goods and services, ensuring that their quality is in line with the contractual agreements and assisting in the control of the internal issuance and tracking system for goods
• Supporting warehouse operations and assist in maintaining adequate stock of spare parts and consumables

What Are We Looking For?

• High school diploma or university degree.
• Job related experience from 1-4 years in the same or similar positions
• Proficiency in using the MS Office suite and the SAP software tool is mandatory 
• Experience of working with different stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Fluent English
