Primary purpose of the position:
- The Wellness Center Manager oversees the overall performance of Wellness programs and initiatives for the South America Production Plants. The Wellness Center is an engineering facility that will maximize uptime of critical process equipment across SA, by overhaul, audit, repair and critical spare part management. The Wellness Center Manager will lead the overall development and growth of the Wellness Center team. They will cover all aspects of running the Wellness Center. This includes staff development through supporting and counselling, identifying training needs and implementation of business objectives and methods to achieve desired results in a safe and efficient manner.
- The Wellness “Event” process includes the auditing, planning, and executing of major over-hauls and rebuilds of critical process equipment within the SA install-base. The Wellness Center Manager will manage the activity that executes the Wellness Audits and eventual Wellness Events.
What will you be responsible for?
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Maintains awareness and complies with all environmental and ergonomic process requirements. Promote a culture of safety, environment, health, quality and 5 S's in the workplace based on constant guidance, valuing people's contributions, encouraging participation in company programs.
- Leads the Wellness Center Team, including technicians, to plan, develop, and execute projects that support the Maintenance of the SA Production Line Assets.
- Works with the Wellness Director to lead a team of SMEs that provide technical support and pertinent information to plants. licensees, joint ventures, customers, and engineering in application of materials, chemical process, and mechanical technology. Ensures SME team participates within installation, troubleshooting, failure investigations, and corrective action of material, process, and mechanical problems.
- Co-ordinate the activities of the various functions within the Wellness Center to ensure the most effective utilization of resources: equipment, material and people. Represents the Wellness Center in all matters and relationships with internal and external bodies (i.e. customer complaints). Controls and plans all aspects of the Wellness Center CapEx and OpEx budgetary requirements.
- Ensure the professional development of the team through specific methodologies (monitoring of technical and behavioral performance, development review, feedback), aiming at the optimization of results and the opportunity to implement a career and succession plan.
- Coordinate and network with Global Engineering and SA manufacturing facilities to plan activities. Leadership of customer and product continuous improvement discussions. Guiding the SME team to collaboration with customers and suppliers towards new materials, products, processes and/or equipment in plants. Assumes both leadership and customer technical liaison with both customers and suppliers.
- Ensures enterprise connectivity by acting as a liaison and technical support to manufacturing , project, container, closure engineering, sales & marketing, quality assurance, EH&S, and sourcing. Carry out regular project and communications meetings with team to ensure all aspects of performance and business objectives are achieved.
What are we looking for?
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through a college-level education or 5-7 work-related experience.
- Job related experience, including experience in packaging manufacturing.
- Knowledge of contracts and specifications.
- Excellent program/project management skills as demonstrated through the successful achievement of assigned objectives.
- Exhibited a developmental, entrepreneurial mind set with abstract analysis skills; applicant should be logical, flexible in approach.
- A demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically from a holistic thinking/systems perspective.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation skills, required.
- Financial literacy and business acumen with the ability to objectively assess projects and teams and meet cost, margin, and profitability targets.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
